    Beware of beach scam: Hotel which knowingly misleads its clients and treats them rudely

    Beware of a scam: The hotel announces in its website it has a private, comfortable equipped beach. It even sent us a message after we booked detailing price for parking and for use of the beach and saying they are both available for extra price. We said we would want to use both and they confirmed. When we arrived at the hotel it turned up the beach is open only from June 1! When I asked them why do they send a message out after booking to offer use of the beach knowing my booking is in May they tried to say it’s an automated message. Which of course is nonsense given the booking is for May when the beach is not operational.I asked why don’t they qualify the statement saying it’s only from June and they said that if they do that they’ll lose many clients ! So they knowingly mislead clients to think they’ll have access to private beach.. and in my case there was a specific answer from me asking for beach use which they confirmed.As we choose the hotel because of our wish to have a hotel with beach we asked for partial refund. When they refused i suggested at least they’ll cover the cost of us going to a private nearby equipped beach. As without sun umbrellas (and beds) their bare beach was not functional. They said they’ll check that and get back to me but never did. (We saw many operational beaches around notwithstanding that they told us incorrectly that in all of Cefalù beaches open only after June 1).The whole thing was treated by them rudely, threatening to call the police and making a prank, pretending to call the police (as if I want notice it’s a fakeCall) to try and scare me.They kept saying rudely that I care only about money which was rude and problematic.I know they will reply here and say more lies but please don’t believe them. They’ll say the beach is an extra service . I know it is and was willing to pay for it. They’ll say they offered me to leave the hotel after one night - true but I wouldn’t go searching a hotel with a little child in a busy period.The fact is clear: they knowingly misinform about the beach to attract clients and then not take responsibility and try to blame the client.BTW they also told me the whole private beach which they promise on the website is an exclusive use of wellEquipped beach is one sunbed, even when it operates ..

    Really nice clean basic hotel. Room very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included and there was something to suit everyone. Nice walk along prom to town about 15-20mins. Pool wasn't open as was too early but it looked lovely.

    After 10 days sightseeing & based in both Palermo & Catania. We were ready to put the brakes on & relax. 7 days at Hotel Tourist we found perfect for our needs. We didn’t find the 10 min walk along the promenade to the town a problem. In fact we saw some great sunsets. We chose hotel tourist because of the pool & it lived up to our expectations. We also made use of the hotel’s private beach which was great.Our room was spacious, cleaned everyday & the AC was quiet. The staff throughout were friendly, helpful & the bar is a lovely place to chill out after the pool or before going into town. The breakfast was pretty good too so all in all for value for money it worked well for our needs

    The location is wonderful with the beach right across the street and the coty just a short walk or taxi ride away. Cefalu is so charming! The hotel is very clean but decor is somewhat outdated (bed covers, washrooms, common areas). Cocktails are great and good service overall!

    This hotel had everything I expected from a 3* hotel - and a bit more. I was a little concerned having read some of the reviews but I needn’t have worried. The bedroom and bathroom were both quite big. We had a little private balcony overlooking the sea and pool and that was great (I might have paid extra for that - can’t remember). The bedroom furniture was a bit basic but perfectly adequate. It is a 15-20 minute stroll into town but it’s along the seafront so I rather liked the location as it was quieter than in the centre. Breakfast was good and the staff were friendly. The other reviews were right about the coffee though - it was the worst we had in the 3 weeks we were travelling around Sicily. The pool is really big (25 metres or so) and was lovely.
