Location

The hotel is built on a rocky outcrop below Taormina and is surrounded by the sea. From the hotel it is possible to enjoy the fantastic view of the Bay of Giardini Naxos and Isola Bella Island, against the unusual background of Mount Etna with its snowy peaks. The hotel is situated 3 km from Taormina centre, where guests can find historical monuments, such as a Greco-Roman Theatre, the Archaeological Museum, Corvaja Palace, the Cathedral, the Palace of Duca of S. Stefano and the famous Watch Tower, as well as the Antical Churches of San Pancrazio, San Joseph and Madonna della Rocca, built in a cave. Moreover, the geographic position makes it possible to visit places of great interest in one day: it is 20 minutes' drive to the Alcantara Gorges, 40 min to Mount Etna. In one day it is also possible to visit Agrigento, Syracuse, Piazza Armerina and the Aeolian Islands. The hotel is situated 50 km from Catania - Fontanarossa Airport.

Facility

190 non-smoking rooms are located on 6 storeys and can be reached by lift. The reception desk is open round the clock. Amenities include a baggage storage service, safe, cash machine and drinks machine. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The resort has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The complex has wheelchair-accessible facilities. There are a number of shops as well. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional facilities include a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage (for a fee) or in the car park. Rooms

Air conditioning and individually adjustable heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. In most units, guests can enjoy a view of the sea from a balcony or terrace. All rooms are carpeted and have a double bed or a queen-size bed. Children's beds and extra beds can be requested for younger guests. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Guests will also find a tea/coffee station included among the standard features. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio, an alarm clock and WiFi (no extra charge) provide all the essentials for a comfortable holiday. The pool complex ensures comfortable swimming with its soothing salt water and 2 outdoor pools. Guests can treat themselves to refreshing drinks at the poolside snack bar and a relaxing soak in the hot tub. A terrace with sun loungers and parasols is available. With snorkelling or, for a fee, water skiing, windsurfing, paddle boating, canoeing and diving available, fans of water sports have plenty of options to choose from. The resort offers numerous indoor sports, including a gym, table tennis and callisthenics or, for a fee, billiards. The resort offers a range of facilities in the wellness area. Options include a spa and, for an additional fee, a sauna, a beauty salon and massage treatments. Guests can enjoy a range of leisure facilities and activities, including an entertainment programme and live music.

Meals

Various dining options are available, including 3 restaurants, a breakfast room and a bar. Refreshing drinks at the beach bar are a perfect way to enjoy warm weather. Catering options include bed and breakfast and half board. A continental breakfast buffet guarantees a great start to the day. A delicious and varied buffet is freshly prepared at breakfast, and a set menu can be ordered at dinner. Diet meals and children's meals can be prepared on request. In addition, special catering options and picnics are available.

    We were disappointed in our stay. The rooms are tiny and outdated. We got a couples massage which was not very good either.     Avoid Interconnecting bedrooms

    Lovely hotel overall, and we were pleased to be given one of the newly renovated bedrooms on the second floor. The room was spacious with a fantastic sea view, which made for a great first impression.Unfortunately, our room was interconnected, and this significantly affected our stay. We had the misfortune of very noisy neighbors returning in the early hours, and due to the connecting door, we could hear everything — conversations, showering, even toilet use. This made it difficult to get a good night’s sleep and was quite disappointing.Dinner at the main restaurant was acceptable: the service was excellent, but the food itself was fairly average and not particularly memorable.At check-out, we mentioned the issue about the noise and lack of sleep to the receptionist. While they thanked us for the feedback regarding the new rooms, nothing further was done to address our concerns, which was a bit disheartening.This hotel has great potential and could be a truly lovely place to stay.     Best hotel in Taormina

    Very warm, welcoming hotel !

    When we arrived the concierge and staff were very welcoming and attentive.we were not the easiest of guests initially as we requested a change of room and the reception staff were amazing in accomodating that but then we decided we actually preferred the first room so they then allowed us to switch back again some time later, it was embarrasing but they were completely ok and just wanted us to be happy !our week here was amazing, rooms cleaned meticulously every day.on the down side, yes some of the rooms are a bit dated but we found when we were given a refurbished room it just didn't feel homely ! a lot of straight lines and neutral colours which for us just made it feel cold and unlike Sicily so the dated but warm decor of the older room was more comfortable for us. stunning view !I would say in general the food and drink throughout the hotel is a little too expensive for its quality but it is served with a wonderful warm and friendly attitude.the pool area is relaxed and comfortable.there is a bus stop within 100 yds of the hotel which most buses stop at and its a short ride up the hill into the town centre. we caught the bus here from catania airport and back.I would say the hotels strong points are its location and views out to the sea and its staff.all in all we loved it here Francesco Mameli, General Manager at UNA Hotels Capotaormina, responded to this review Dear Kjeffd,thank you for your wonderful and detailed feedback!
