  Avoid Avoid Avoid this hotel ,it is not what it say it is

  Rooms are not what they are portrayed as .We are two adult couples who booked a 2 bed suite to find the second room has a pop up bed and is fit for only childrenAfter much much discussion and bafflement on behalf of the staff we finally got another room at substantial further cost .The rooms are not worth waiting for they are at best sheds with tiny windows ,no views and below average beds and bedding .The Nature bit of the “resort”consists of mosquitoes in the evening and the flies on the breakfast bar .The other “nature”element we assume must be their keenness to reuse old towels and to not upgrade the furniture for we assume “Eco”reasons Half board food is average at best and breakfast is appalling.We skipped the evening meal (having paid already for it )and went on the very very long trip into town for dinner instead .The staff seem to pay almost no attention to the guest .Asking for a coffee at 7.20 in the morning was received by one staff member with disdain and a shrug as if I had insulted him .There is nothing resort ,nothing nature and nothing 5 star about this place Avoid Avoid Vallegrande Nature Resort, Altro at Vallegrande Nature Resort By Geocharme, responded to this review Dear Guest we are really surprised about your review. We can understand and justify your anger for having made a mistake when booking the room but certainly, as we have explained at the check in, itwas not our fault, as that was the room you booked for (same pictures and service described on the website).You booked a family room where the composition of the beds was clearly written and that it was a suite with a single access. Upon your arrival, however, you wanted to have two rooms with two independent entrances to have privacy. But in that case it would not have been a suite but two independent double rooms. We were immediately available and friendly in offering you two double rooms despite your rude attitude as you did not want to pay the difference. Obviously, it is not possible to book just one room to save money and then have two rooms for free.It is also very strange that you did not like the breakfast considering that you also ordered from our special breakfast for a fee, therefore with extra products compared to the buffet.Finally, regarding the request before breakfast, it did not only concern the coffee, which was made for you, but you wanted to access the breakfast room before opening time and when you were asked to wait a few minutes, you left the cappucino in front of the waiter.We understand that you were frustrated by your mistake but we think it is not right to negatively evaluate a property whose rooms were all perfectly functional.

  Beautiful place, treacherous approach, poor food offering

  Vallegrande is in a stunning location, beautifully kept, excellent plumbing, aircon etc. It is a very pleasant place to be.However, the journey from the main road needs to be much more clearly highlighted. It is treacherous. Even for the most robust driver, it could only be attempted once a day which left us less likely to go to the beach or the town for lunch etc.The website implies some kind of organic food escape. This not the case. Breakfast remained completely the same for 10 days. Not one item changed. Rock hard and poorly mixed scrambled eggs, gone off pineapple, faded grated carrot, very average and not crispy croissants. Even the £7 omelette was over done, one crepe was served for €6, one boiled egg €4. The lunch offering was poor, an €18 chicken salad had scraps of chicken, chunks of golden delicious apple, rocket and no dressing. A side of bread from breakfast was served.While some staff were friendly, there was an air from many that they just did not want to be there. Smiles were rare. We had a very basic massage is a painted plywood box/shed, don't bother to be honest.We had a wonderful holiday in a stunning part of the world. However, these are the things I would question before booking.As a final sign off, following paying a bill of over €5,000 (we had two rooms), I asked for a bottle of water for the journey in 35 degree heat and was charged €3.   Great location and service

  We stayed for two nights at Vallegrande. Considering the branding (relaxed luxury) we thought this resort would have couples as guest, but the majority was families with children. If you’re looking to relax and enjoy some quiet time at the resort, this place is not for you. The beds were also rock hard. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay, and the service was amazing! We are sorry to read that you were annoied by some children but we wuold like to clirify that the brand "luxury" refers to forniture, services and quality of the food. We don't discrimanate people with children. The rooms are availble on line and everyone can book it. We don't know if will be a single person, a couple or a family. The important thing is to respect each other and we intervene immediately if someone does not respect the rules. We hope to host again in the future.

  Where the great photos are a real reflection of this wonderful place

  What a wonderful find - a hilltop retreat of tranquility. Don’t let the steep narrow approach or the narrow gated entrance put you off. This really is a special place with its nature inspired rooms, infinity pool and friendly welcoming staff.   Nice hotel….

  A charming resort hotel with great staff. Also located near a small but beautiful town Cefalu. Naomi, Alexandra and Yusuf were particularly helpful. The ride to the hotel is a bit rocky and the breakfast range could be better. Also room temperature was set and could not be changed so was not ideal. That said we really enjoyed the location and used it as a base camp.
