Location

The hotel is very centrally positioned, close to shops, bars and restaurants. It is situated 15 m from the beach and from the Promenade of Giardini Naxos, and 200 m from the archaeological ruins of Naxos and the harbour. Links to public transport are within about 150 m and the train station in some 4 km away. Catania-Fontanarossa Airport is situated approximately 55 km away from the hotel.

    Food terrible, hotel basic but clean,balcony view was awful,air-conditioning non existent. Reception unhelpful. Parking awful so I would advise not to hire a car.

    Old hotel,outside no this named villa athene but sportinghotel baia. This is the smaller building, very hard to locate, even taxi did not know this. Small room, time to time bad smell in the bathroom. Breakfast ok in the other building. Sausage and bacon cold. Coffee good, juice ☹️. All week changing school groups yelling, running up and down, srceaming,breaking things late after midnight. Reception can not do anything ??!! So we listened grazy noise all week. Not very friendly staff, excpesially in the reseption. I think ALL customers must be important. They knew the noise problem but did nothing. Beds went broke but they just changed those ?? Did not care at all our complates. Awful place because can not sleep in the evening because noise from the near street and children. Pupils left early and at 8 came cleaning ladys. Downstairs there is a bar with nice staff and best coffee in the city👍 Never coming back.

    When we arrived our transfer chap couldn’t find the hotel, we eventually found it behind the sporting Baia hotel of which it is a dependant.the room was really clean and comfortable though with an apauling view from the balcony (a delpidated brick wall) the room was cleaned daily and linens changed. All our meals were taken at the sporting Baia next door where the restaurant was amazing my friend who I was traveling with is vegetarian and the staff were really kind on a couple of occasions getting the chef to make her mashed potatoes with cheese really delicious.ther is a very varied buffet of salads and veg very useful if you don’t eat meat,there was a choice of pasta each night and then a choice of fish or a meat dish authentic Italian very nicely served.the staff at the hotel were very good.the hotel is right on a fabulous beach and with a bus stop just across the road

    The rooms werde nice, had everything you need, the food was quite good. There is a nice pool und half of the rooms have a look over the sea. It is a quiet location. what is good, so you can have a good nights rest.The staff was friendly, they have free WIFI.The interieur is something mixed ...very old stuff like in a Disney-land-castle and plastic bed-heads.... quite a lot of the furniture is old and sometimes not in good shape, but everything is clean, so its ok.As we were there with a group I cant say something about the price.

    We stayed at Villa Athena for 10 days. It's a 3* hotel and a part of 4* Sporting Baia.Our room was nice and clean. Housekeeping was great.There is no minibar in the room, aircondition is central, but very good. Bed was king size and comfortable. We had beautifull view of Etna from the balcony.Sandy beach is very close to the hotel, you can buy ticket for the sunbeds and umbrellas at the reception for reduced price (13 euros for two persons), but there is also a free part of the beach 100m away.There is a bar in the lobby with good cocktails and nice music.Reception and restaurant are in Sporting Baia.Breakfast is classical buffet with more choices that we expected.You can choose dinner time (7 or 8:15 pm) and every evening you choose what you'll have for the dinner tomorrow.Dinner consists of buffet (salads, vegetables prepared in million different ways, soup...), two plates (the first plate is some pasta or lasagna and the second is fish or meat) and a dessert.Next to the hotel is a gelateria with great ice cream, 5 minutes away is a Deco, grocery shop, with moderate prices, bus stop (to Taormina, Isola Bella...) is across the street from Sporting Baia.All staff is very polite and helpfull, but we must especially recommend our waiter Tino, who made every dinner a five-star experience.
