Location

This hotel lies in the Ciane and Saline Nature Park, a few metres from the source of the Ciane River (3 km), famous for the myth of Proserpina, Ovid's Metamorphoses and is surrounded by wonderful Egyptian papyrus plants. It is 5 km to the sandy beach and the sea. Guests will find restaurants, bars, nightspots and shops all 6 km away in Siracusa. Visitors to the area will find plenty of sights nearby, including the Isola di Ortigia (6 km), Noto (37 km) and Catania (65 km). Catania Airport is 60 km away.

    This property is a unique gem tucked away on the outside of Syracuse. The setting is so tranquil and you are surrounded by the beauty of nature. The breakfast was very good and served in a spectacular setting. It was an easy drive into town and the staff gave us directions to a grocery store where we stocked up on wine and cheese for our Happy Hour. We were traveling with friends and enjoyed gathering outside using one of their many picnic tables and enjoying the beautiful views and the serenity of our surroundings. We were in the Rosa cottage and had an issue running out of hot water. Our friends who were in nearby cottages had no issues so maybe it was just the Rosa having problems.

Shower curtains had about 2 inches of grime at the bottom and shower seemed like it needed a good scrubbing If rooms were more functional would be helpful, more shelves / tables to store and organize your things

    What a beautiful place, beds comfortable , area is so beautiful so many lovely places to sit in the grounds , all the staff were lovely , pool was good , and breakfast what a spread ,highly recommend , you possibly need a car as walking to nearest eatery would be very dark . We throughly enjoyed our stay Thankyou

    Villa Dei Papiri was absolutely wonderful. The villa and surrounding area are beautiful. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. They helped us plan our day trips, book taxis, and make the most out of our trip to Siracusa. The room was great, and we loved being able to relax in the countryside after a day in the city or at the beach. We highly recommend Villa Dei Papiri and will definitely stay there again the next time we visit Sicily.
