  A relaxing holiday that we are looking for a year in advance.r

  This was a very good and relaxing holiday. You have to Relax and let the time go by. The Bar is small but you can find the best nibbles and good Alcohol. We came last year 2024 and this year 2025 and have just arrived. I will surely try to make it as well next year.

  Arrived early after taking an early flight, staff was accommodating and allowed us to check in at 10:30am , which was much appreciated. We have booked a 2 bedroom apartment with a kitchenet as we were traveling with 3 adults and a young child. When we got in the apartment, there was an infestation of ants in both bedrooms and the kitchen area, they where everywhere. It was clear we were not able to stay in the room and went back to the reception. They sent a handy man around and sprayed a couple of places but as they were everywhere, it was a futile attempt to appease us. The receptionist was very dismissive and downplayed the any problem. We asked for a different room but all they had was a 1 bedroom apartment with no kitchen, as it was the height of the summer season, there were no other options to move hotels as they where all booked. So we accepted the room after the staff member told me there would be a reduction/discount as we lost the second bathroom and kitchen area. Although the kitchen didn't even have a kettle, toaster or microwave so it wasn't a great loss. This meant that there were two beds in the living room and no sofa, My young son slept in the living room with his aunt so there was no privacy. It was fair less than ideal. The toilet door didn't have a lock on it and the door kept opening, making it very awkward. The A/C was set to 16C but it never got near that temp and the room remained warm. The room was very dated and the TV had no English speaking channels on it making it useless in the evenings after my son had gone to sleep. We found ants in our second room, but not as many as the first apartment. Other guest mentioned ants were in their rooms so I can only deduce it's a hotel wide problem. On checking out, they refused to provide any sort of discount and cited that we booked through booking.com. So the whole experience ruined my holiday. The only good thing about this hotel is the pool and the little café attached to it, as they cooked nice food and were friendly. If you want a dated poorly decorated infested hotel stay, then I would recommend this hotel, you won't be disappointed. Don't expect the basics like a kettle, tea, coffee, proper A/C that works. The location was also a problem as the map says its only a 15-20min walk to places like the beach, shops and restaurant's, but when it's 34c and its very hilly with no safe pathways in some places when walking, it becomes inaccessible without taxi's which are really expensive. I'm glad to be home after such a terrible experience. , Proprietario at Villaggio Alkantara, responded to this review Dear 574willt,we are very sorry that you didn't have a positive experience staying at our hotel.It's true that there were ants in the first room with kitchenette assigned to you, but it was not all an infestation.Very simply our rooms are all inside a huge garden, so it might happen occasionally that ants get inside a room.it only happens very rarely because rooms are cleaned daily and only when a room is not assigned for a long time this inconvenience might occur.We have checked your room after your departure:- the air conditioning in works perfectly. We wish to remind you that taking off the room key it switches automatically off.- there is a lock that works in the bathroom- there are 3 Engligh channels in our tv. one of the 3 is BBC newsOne more importatn point: the cleaning of the apartment that you booked is by contract only one a week. In the second room assigned you have received a daily cleaning service with no supplement.Our location is very convenient and it's exactly as described in our web site and in all our Tour Operator web site:There is a public bus stop in front of the hotel and we are at a stone's throw from Giardini Naxos and Taormina.A bus terminal with services for all major attraction in the area and the airport is at walking distance.However, for going straight to the point when the arrival day you came back to the reception, our receptionist asked if you needed the kitchenette. When you replied: " no ", He offered a bigger and much more spacious room then the one originally assigned.There were not 2 bathrooms in the first room, so you didn't miss a bathroom.Second point; when our receptionist promptly solved your problem with the room change, he invited you to come back at the reception the following morning for meeting the director. He has never offered or promised a discount and you didn't come the following day for meeting the director. You came only the check out day pretending a refund.It' really unfair to receive one dot for each of our single services especially considering that you write in your comment that you enjoyed the pool, the bar services and our food

  Good break with helpful staff I would avoid if you haven’t got young children

  Good break in a quiet location but is still close to other towns and the beach with a local supermarket 10 mins walk away.Food was okay with a good variety of things available each night staff went above and beyond adapting items available to suit dietary requirements and preferences.Bed was slightly uncomfortable as it was 2 single mattresses put together but hotel room was clean and a large terrace with a good view (pictured) made it enjoyable.The entertainment was very focused around children with the kids disco starting as late as 10pm. And requests to play a variety of music fell on deaf ears after repeatedly asking.The bar staff were lovely and very accommodating with reasonable prices for both food and drink.

  Lovely out of town accommodation with good amenities and helpful friendly staff but avoid if you don't have children

  Nice break with friendly, helpful staff. Good amenities and very reasonably priced bar with a wide range of snacks. Evening entertainment brought the rating down - childrens disco at 10pm!! As soon as it started the adults started leaving the bar, the childrens entertainment was still playing at 10.45pm. (You are losing paying adults who would stay and buy drinks but don't want to listen to childrens songs)Also, many requests to play some english music fell on deaf ears!!

  We enjoyed our stay in Villagio Alkantara. We stayed in the room number 143. The rooms are pretty basic but very well kept clean and cosy with great air conditioner. The fridge is also a very nice bonus. We booked breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was standard but dinner was amazing with drinks included. Thank you so much, we enjoyed every meal and had a great time. The pool is very well kept with a beautiful view on a large territory with beautiful plants. We had a queire and the receptionists were very helpful in sorting it out. We definitely recommend this hotel for the price and location. We will definitely come back next year.
