    Never disappoints

    The place is incredibly beautiful, especially during our time when the temperatures were mild, but each day was sunny. It is particularly nice to eat under the cloisters, spend the late afternoons on the balcony of the bar. The staff speaks good English and is very friendly. We will be back.

    The Carthusian monastery itself as a historic building is certainly splendid and a place worth the trip for a visit, as a hotel on the other hand it leaves a lot to be desired. The rooms are nice and are finally refrigerated as well but the general service of a particular and the catering really sucks. I've been going to the Charterhouse for years and have seen over time the quality of the food drop more and more while the prices rise violently, we've reached a point where there is a gulf between the quality of the food offered and the asking price, I think from this year I will only use it as a hotel and go to the excellent restaurants in the area to eat.

    Beautiful gardens and great food amid former monastic charms!

    We stayed here during our Insight Vacations 'Country Roads of Italy' tour. Beautiful gardens, great buffet breakfasts and a lovely dinner under the colonnades. We had the added bonus of the Cantata Toscana 2024 being held locally. Choristers were practicing in the courtyard whilst we dined!

    What a fabulous place to stay.Our room was excellent, and the surroundings are just stunning . You probably need a car to get there though.Situated about 6 km away from Siena, but if you have a car, it’s easy journey .Siena can be a nightmare for parking but we were given some good advice by reception who said that we could park in the station carpark all day for €2. Easy.If you stay at the hotel, I would definitely take advantage of the restaurant which has a great breakfast and brilliant dinners and food . We had the tasting menu on one night which was €65 for five courses including a wine flight. The food was excellent.I cannot recommend the hotel in the restaurant and the staff highly enough.Thank you for a lovely experience .

    Charming, romantic Tuscan getaway

    This property was incredible. I believe it is a converted monastery. This is perfect if you would like a bed and breakfast with charm, out in the Tuscan countryside. It was exactly what we had hoped for and more. It is located on a hill overlooking Siena, about a 15 min drive from the city. The hotel is surrounded by wine vineyards and olive tree groves on all sides including on the way up the property. The property itself makes its own wine, olive oil and honey. The rooms were charming and felt like they were a few hundred years old. You trade luxury for authenticity at this hotel, such for us was well with it. We stayed in a 3 bedroom. It does only have one bathroom to share. It had a kitchen with the essentials, including a cooktop, dishes, and a refrigerator. We did cook simple food in the kitchen with pots and pans. There were old steep stairs inside the apartment to reach the 2nd level where we had 2 of the 3 bedrooms. The view from the balcony was beautiful. They have a restaurant on site which was great. We are there one night. Their olive oil was the best I’ve even tried. The included breakfast was incredible. It has so much variety including pastries of every kind, pancakes, eggs, bacon, yogurt, fresh fruit, juices, local meats and cheese, breads, cold cereal and milk, etc. It has something for everyone. It’s was the best breakfast we had during our 2 week European trip. The property itself has an Italian garden, beautiful spacious grounds, and chapel with frescoes. We came as a family with children. My wife and I plan to return for romantic stay again in the future.
