    The hotel was very central to Duomo & ll Campo. As well an excellent selection of nearby restaurants. Hotel.Duomo has a European vibe which we like. Breakfast was great

    As per prior reviews this place is a bit tired and could do with some attention and a safe in the room. But...... the service is good, breakfast basic but good and the location is really central. Don't be put off by the tired comments as the place is good and well worth it.

    2nd time I stayed at the Hotel Duomo. It is very well located, and you get the Italian experience. Reception is very accommodating, and will make a dinner reservation at your favorite restaurant of you choice, just give them a few days notice in advance, which is a good idea especially on a Friday or Saturday night. Nothing worse is entering an restaurant or osteria at 8 or 9pm, and the place is full, and your only option is a slice of pizza and a gelato. The same is true on Sundays for lunch, reservations are highly recommended. If you want an American experience stay at a Marriott or Hilton. The breakfast choices at the Hotel Duomo are typical Italian fare, excellent to get your day started to tour Siena. I recommend this hotel.

    GREAT location very near the Piazza del Campo-- THE center of town!! Although the interior is dated the staff is extremely helpful and the breakfast buffet was impressive! I want to plug the stationery store down the street- at Via di Citta 54- lots of beautiful journals and papers, note cards and pens/pencils. The items make a thoughtful and practical gift to give a friend! Back to the hotel- it IS located a 12th century mansion so its understandable its a bit dated! All in all, we were happy with our stay. Others who would not appreciate any street noise (not cars, but festivals) need to know it IS near large, historic public gathering spots (which are still used to gather!!!)

    Not a good experience due to extreme late night noise from the Panteri (Panther) area of the city following the horse race. Street party with thumping music into the early morning every night of the week we were there. After 2 nights of this we gave up and moved out. Our biggest beef was that they knew that the street party was going to happen but didn’t tell us. Major problem.About the hotel it is centrally located, the staff are friendly. It’s about 20 years past needing an update. Old furniture. Grubby Carpets, knocked about walls and doors. Very dated.
