    Very noisy rooms

    rating15 Oct 2025

Positive: very nice staff and pet friendlyNegative: it is just ok, no luxury, no wellness, just a rather small pool in the shade that you can use upon reservation 1 hour a day. But the real problem is the noise. I was in room number 1 (worst room) for 2 nights and I could hear the guests and the loud music from the restaurant, the very loud voices from the kitchen, people talking at the reception and the steps of the people going up and down from the stairs the entire day. The noises were like the room had no walls. They should really not rent this room for guests, it was the noisiest room I have every slept in, horrible! Generally all the rooms seem not to be well isolated but room number 1 is the worst, absolutely avoid. Overall I would not recommend the hotel.

Reads luxury but actually just ok

    rating14 Sept 2025

This place reads like its amazing but honestly it is just ok. With no lift and no assistance offered to help carry bags. The room is as described but small and basic and the walls are paper thin. No ropes, mini bar or many power sockets. We had room 5 and we could hear absolutely everything from both rooms either side. Our room had an adjoining door to the room next door (opening into their room) and this wasn't locked and kept coming ajar open. We put our chair against it and think the other people did the same. Once we worked out about the door we could not hear everything (people coaching) as much but we still felt like we could not relax in our room. The breakfast was average (only continental) with nothing cooked offered. The pool is ok - narrow and functional for a swim. The location is rural (a car is recommended). Only one restaurant with limited space and as they cater for the neighbouring sister hotel you must book. They had 6 mains to choose from on the menu with daily specials. We stayed 3 nights so nearly had them all. The waitress lady is lovely although slightly pushy for her specials. The spa is also not on site and shared with sister neighbour hotel which ships their guests to here for dinner. On leaving to stay at our next destination (a proper 4 star hotel near Lake Como with lifts, large rooms, mini bar, ropes, spa on site) i realised just how this place was overrated. Should lose a star.

Was Meant To Be A Special Proposal Holiday But Disappointed

    rating21 Aug 2025

Quite a few negatives unfortunately out weighed the positives, the old mill setting of the hotel was nice however compared to the photos online we were expecting a bit more luxury! We liked the fact there was 2 pools to use! and the staff were pleasant. We arrived rather late Sunday after driving all the way from the UK we had just driven from Switzerland the previous night - my partner checked in for us, he said Sandra the receptionist was helpful and pleasant and we did get given a comp room upgrade. We were told we could have dinner that evening but after hearing the waitress and receptionist have a loud discussion in Italian Infront of us which sounded like a debate whether we could have a table but we were eventually seated, this is our first trip to Italy and were not aware that pasta dishes seem to come as a first course then meats as a second course so we asked how large are the pasta portions, we were then given a rather complicated over-explanation about steak weights and left our original question unanswered but we both ended up having pasta and desert which was nice but compared to the rest of the week where we ate out in the closest town (Radda) the price of our meal for the first night was very high! So if anyone is staying I would highly recommend the food in Radda - especially Pizza Pie!Additionally we saw through the kitchen that lunch was just a microwave meal!! the chef saw my partner looking and closed the kitchen door so not sure how authentic our expensive first night meal really was! When we got to the hotel we were exhausted and looking for a quiet romantic meal... however we were not expecting to be dining with 3 young toddlers so late at night! one was screaming and crying - I appreciate there is not much that can be done about this however when I booked the hotel... it doesn't say 'adults only' but then again its just not the type of hotel I expected to have parents staying with toddlers - not really anything for them like a play area or creche or even pool toys, the hotel is advertised as a wellness and spa retreat which to me says peace and quiet although we didn't seem to get either of those things while at this hotel! We returned to our room which although we were kindly upgraded, was very small and the bed was so so uncomfortable! The pillows had no support and hard mattress, neither of us slept very well the whole week we and we were also woken at 7am by the next door toddler crying as the walls were paper thin! Towards the end of the week we were woken up again by adults coming upstairs from dinner, being very loud and obviously had too much wine, go into the room next door and talk at a very unacceptable volume for after 11.30pm! We were also woken by what sounded like gunshot/a door being slammed extremely hard early hours another night. The room was also meant to be looking at 'the garden' but it was just an overgrown walkway with some lounge chairs left, my partner went for a walk down there and was swarmed by wasps! The little seating area we had outside our room was far too close to the 2 next to ours so when I got up to sit outside and read I was again greeted by the loud toddler running around. We went for breakfast and the whole buffet was covered in WASPS literally swarms! which isn't hygienic! and someone could easily be stung by grabbing a pastry. On the Wednesday the problem was fixed by a very simple solution but only used once the whole time we were there!!! SHUT THE MAIN DOORS!! It kept the wasps out and it didn't cause any inconvenience to anyone taking food back and fourth! We also had wasps come to our table while we were eating which could be avoided by leaving a trap/distraction plate out for them away from the guests trying to eat.We wanted to relax by the pool the first morning but yet again THE TODDLER from next door was there being loud, so we moved to the other pool which was much nicer - better view - less foliage so we had less insects biting us - we spoke to another British couple who said they moved pools because the toddlers were being too noisyAlthough we enjoyed the other pool - one of my peaceful naps was disturbed by a large family of French with 3 children around 7-8 started shouting and splashing - which made a few other guests annoyed. The majority was young couples and families with teen children TRYING to relax. All the times my partner went to try and order a drink from the other hotel there was no staff around! The one drink he went to get me was an aperol spritz that he had to wait ages for was eventually made by the maintenance man who was dripping in sweat - it was also made far too strong! We bought some cards to play in the evening so we set up in the little quiet area of the indoor seating but we were being bitten and swamped with a load of mosquitos, wasps and a large black fly things!! So again no way of relaxing in the evening, there was no table and chair area in our room so we had to sit and play on the bed - not ideal. - I know bugs are hard to deal with but some traps in appropriate areas would help!My partner actually proposed to me on this trip on the Thursday evening... so this was meant to be a really special holiday but instead of not wanting to leave we were instead counting down the days by the weekend. The last thing was as it was so hot we wanted water and although they gave us a bottle of still and sparkling each day - when we asked at reception for more my partner was told on every occasion there is some in the room - we were aware of this but my partner doesn't like sparkling water and although we kept buying bottles from the supermarket we needed more.Overall the cleanliness from the house keeping was great and quickly done in the mornings, the choice of 2 pool areas was nice, staff at breakfast were pleasant and the hotels previous history was interesting but was far from worth £170 per night plus as we were charged a further £55 tourist tax!!

    Beautiful but that’s it.

    rating08 Jun 2025

Upon arrival, Sandra was not welcoming. Her tone was very much negative. She also tried to blame us for not knowing that we have to check in to Le Noci. I had called about 1 hr prior to arrival to discuss my transportation. She knew I was taking a taxi. She could have mentioned it at that time. Instead of a simple “I apologize for the miscommunication” she told me “you should know. Now how are we going to get you there?” I know she mentioned in Italian she was tired on the phone. But that is not how you talk to people, especially as a first impression. She insisted that the miscommunication was done due to a 3rd party website I booked from (when in fact I booked directly). She eventually came down from her high energy when I showed her my email and phone call I had MONTHS ago. Also, my family and I had made dinner reservations for June 10th for when we arrived. Nothing was noted as a reservation. I do not entirely blame Sandra. It seems this place is poorly run overall. Lack of communication with their team and customers. The “traditional Tuscan dinner” is truly terrible. I thought I had paid for a set menu prior. It turns out it is just a regular restaurant menu. We did not get any explaination as to what that is. When we tried to order our foods the waitress (forgot her name), told us we cannot order without explanation. Certain items she said have additional $25 but did not explain why. A simple “the Tuscan dinner includes XYZ” would have been sufficient. Also the food was awful. Pici pomodoro lacked flavor. Orange ravioli had WAY TOO MUCH orange. The flavors did not melt. The gnocchi was disgusting. That was not gnocchi. They were pasta remnants boiled into whatever shape. I have pictures and videos to prove it. When it comes to transportation between your own hotels/services, there should be some transportation. All resorts and hotels include that. We appreciate Alessio and Anton for their kind demeanor and trying to accommodate. My family and I were at the end of our 3 week long vacation in Italy and this was perhaps the worse welcome. On top of that, I mentioned we were here specifically to celebrate my 30th birthday. I made sure to arrange everything to be HERE for my birthday. I would not recommend this location/hotel. I may consider the Palazzo Leopoldo in the future due to the kind staff and views.

    Tranquility and comfort

    rating11 May 2025

We came looking for tranquility and relaxation, and that was what we found at Ultimo Mulino. It's cosy, picturesque and full of charm, and the staff were all extremely nice and attentive. Breakfasts were delicious, with local products and freshly baked cakes, and the coffee was heavenly! Dinner at the restaurant was a real Tuscany treat, of course accompanied by excellent Chianti wines. Moreover, it's a perfect base for day trips across the region, with Siena, San Gimignano, Arezzo and Florence just a short drive away.
