  It was quiet and we slept really soundly! The breakfast was wonderful! We were happy to find an extra blanket in the closet, shampoo & conditioner.

  Perfectly Located with all the potential to be the place to stay But....

  Perfectly located in San Giacomo but that is all it has going for it in it's present state. The rooms in this place need a renovation. The rooms are very small and their on line photos make them look way better and bigger than they are. The bed mattress in the room was probably older than the building. I ended up with a sore back after the first night. We stayed here in August. The air conditioning does not work. The fridge in the room did not work either. There is a sign on the fridge that says it is not for guests own use. We had to buy an adaptor so the kettle in the room could be plugged into the power socket. The shower was so small you could barely move in it. The balcony door hit the bed when it was open.! To be honest we could have coped with the tiny room if the air con worked and the mattress was comfortable. I heard other guests at the reception telling staff that their fridge and air con were not working. The rest of the facilities here were up to expectations. The pool, restaurant (breakfast, lunch and dinner) were great. The staff were helpful. The view from the room and the restaurant were beautiful. I wouldn't recommend for anyone to stay here based on the current condition of the rooms.

  Highly recommend this hotel. Extremely helpful friendly staff.. excellent location with a 5-8min walk into the centre. Breakfast was fabulous. Rooms so clean. Will definitely come back.

  It’s a great hotel. Perfect balance in many ways.It’s just outside of the old city gate, no more than 5 min walk. So it’s away from the noise and the crowd. But easy to go in, multiple times. A couple hours to walk the narrow streets, a visit to the museums, then back to the hotel to have a quick dip in the pool or maybe a nap on the pool deck under the umbrella to chill out during hottest part of the day? Before returning to the city in late afternoon for more sightseeing and hunt down a good dinner restaurant. Rooms are large and clean. Breakfast is very extensive. I liked it so much I stayed two extra days! Whether you’re arriving by car or by bus, no need to negotiate the cobblestone streets dragging your luggage or watching your wing mirrors and all the pedestrians trying to get to your hotel inside the walled city. Oh, did I mention the price is also a good balance for the quality of the hotel?

  Very comfortable resort-style hotel with an easy walk to San Gimignano

  Relais Santa Chiara could not have been better. Located very close to San Gimignano, it is a very quick walk into town. We stayed for 6 nights and were delighted by our deluxe room with a view (Room 202). I was a bit worried after reading reviews, which seemed to lean to the negative or very positive based on room type. Our room had a sitting room and bedroom. Plenty out outlets for the electronics, ample closet space and room to place luggage. The bathroom was small, but very adequate with great water pressure. Our balcony looked out on the pool and the vineyards and hillsides. We reserved a parking space and while tight (what parking isn't tight in Italy) it worked out great. The pool and pool area were a great place to relax, read, have drinks and enjoy the summer sun. Finally, breakfast, included, was an assortment of sweets, cereal and even eggs, bacon, and sausages. We hope to return here again for are next vacation in Tuscany. The value for dollar spent was outstanding.
