  Great hotell near Sorrento sentre

  We chose to stay at this hotel, which is located about 10 minutes by train (two stops) from Piano di Sorrento train station, and approximately a 10-minute walk from the hotel. The hotel is situated right by the sea, high up on a cliff, offering panoramic views. It’s also close to the harbor where boats depart for Capri and other destinations.The staff was helpful in booking a ferry to Capri for us and provided great information about things to do in the area.The hotel was clean, pleasant, and had friendly and service-minded staff. Breakfast was good, and they offered gluten-free options. The view from the breakfast area was phenomenal.We were lucky to receive a complimentary upgrade from a garden view to a sea view, which we truly appreciated.For us, the beds were a bit firm, but the room we received was clean, fresh, smelled nice, and felt modern.We highly recommend staying here, as we were very pleased with our stay.Best regards,Mikaela and Thomas

  This family run hotel felt like a cozy home away from home. We were so impressed with the level of comfort and attention to detail. Angela, Stefania and others staffs were accommodating, friendly, and helpful. We booked a balcony room with breathtaking sea view which was spacious, beautiful and clean. We loved relaxing and winding at the balcony with drinks and cocktails after a long day excursion and sightseeing. Strongly recommend book your home away from home now with Cosmomare while you in Sorrento.

  Receptionists were rude. We had requested early check in several times but were not accommodated, that is understandable. They stored our luggage in the lobby and when we came back at the time of check in, the bags were moved into our room already. The room I wanted was a twin room, but this room they moved our luggage into was a double room. They never asked me the preferred bed type and assumed, and moved our luggage there too. When I requested to change, they were visibly annoyed, and told me “YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT A LONG TIME.” I said I’m okay to wait and I need 2 beds anyhow. Then they told me to wait for the cleaning lady, which made absolutely no sense. The front desk staff relied on the cleaning lady for room availability information?? We also had issues cancelling a boat tour we booked. They did not tell us that we will be charged if we cancel on the day. We were not in the right circumstance to take the boat tour, so we decided to pay as they insisted. Then we were told that they don’t accept card payment. A lot of hassle for a holiday morning. Breakfast was below average. Plates were not clean. The fruit bowls were greasy and looked like they were not washed properly. There were no plates or cutlery at our table, and when we asked for the same, they told us to get it from some other table. The good part is the location. There is a 10/10 restaurant located just next door with a stunning view, called Koral. Paola Donatantonio, Proprietario at Hotel Cosmomare, responded to this review Thank you for leaving your comment, criticism helps us improve, but we also want to say our version of the facts because in a story there are always two sides.You arrived at the hotel at around 11 am, obviously your room was not ready as check-in is from 3 pm onwards and check-out is by 10:30 am, so the room had been left recently and there had not yet been time to clean and sanitize it. But we still gave you the option of leaving your luggage at the reception, at that time you could have easily told us that you preferred two single beds, it would have been a pleasure for us to accommodate your preferences. As soon as it was ready we kindly took your luggage to the room you had booked, that is, a room with a garden view. When you returned at about 2:30 pm and saw the room you insisted on changing rooms because you claimed to have booked a sea view, we showed you with the booking in hand that it was not as you said and if you wanted the sea view there was an extra to pay, but you did not want it, you started behaving rudely with the receptionist who simply told you that you had to wait because the room preparation lady was temporarily busy in another room.As for Capri, at the time of booking the sign indicating the times, prices and cancellation terms is clearly displayed at the reception. It is clearly stated that cancellations are valid without penalty up to 24 hours in advance and that if you cancel on the same day you must pay the full amount of the ticket and it is fair because the shipping company has reserved that place exclusively for you and it is not fair that you lose earnings for a whim, we tried several times to get paid, but you did not want to, all demonstrable through the video surveillance cameras present in the common areas, so ultimately you have lost only € 4.00 compared to the € 40 that you had to pay.Our three-star hotel offers a rich sweet and savory buffet breakfast, which includes homemade cakes, croissants, bread, toast, butter, jams, spreads, fresh fruit, sandwiches, cold cuts, cheeses, eggs, juices, coffee and various types of hot drinks.You did not find the plate at that table (sea view) because the table had recently been vacated by other customers. While the breakfast lady was cleaning the table, you took the place settings from another table to be able to sit down. As for the cleanliness of the dishes, you could have said it at the time, we would have been happy to be able to solve the problem immediately.Despite the inconveniences we hope to have you back in our hotel, perhaps more inclined to respect the work of the people who try to ensure you a pleasant stay

  Amazing experience

  We stayed here in mid august 2023 as a couple. We arrived by Ferry in Sorrento and got a taxi nearby which took approx 15 mins. Upon arrival, the receptionist was very welcoming and provided us with lots of useful local information which came in very handy over the coming days. Our room was very comfortable (with the exception of the mattress which was a little hard for our taste). Views from the balcony were spectacular and we had everything we needed in the room. Breakfast was simple but tasty and, again, the breakfast room had a wonderful view over the bay of Naples. The hotel was in an excellent position - we took a short walk to the elevator which takes you down to the marina where there are a few good restaurants which we really enjoyed. Fracatell was particularly good (food and wine) however the pizza restaurant on the pier not so much - if you do go there stay away from the main menu and stick to the ‘traditional’ section.The hotel was close to Sorrento - we caught the train which was a 15 min walk from the hotel (could have been shorter had it not been so hot!). This only cost €1.60 each way and was easy to do. When arriving in Sorrento, we explored the old town and beach clubs which were €50 a day for a couple with a bed each and umbrella. Well worth it though for a really amazing swimming experience - the setting is amazing and it felt really safe. Plus they serve food and drinks there. On our last day we went to Piano Di Sorrento and hired a couple of beds there - which was much cheaper at €30 for the day. Equally as beautiful and probably slightly more child friendly than Sorrento.At the end of our stay we got the train to Naples (which wasn’t a great experience - expect no air-con or seating, plus a jam packed train). Although we chose this as it was significantly cheaper than other options at €8pp.We didn’t do any excursions - only because we were happy with what we had immediately available to us. There is plenty to explore locally. All in all, a very amazing experience and would 100% recommend this hotel to a friend. Very well located in a quiet location with enough at your fingertips and easy to get into the busier Sorrento.

  So many factors when considering your stay, but a great option!

  I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Cosmomare. The location is great! I had a balcony, and I just opened stepped outside and was created with the most incredible views. The location is good too, you’re about a 10 min walk to the station and 15 min to the downtown of Sorrento. Additionally, you’re a 10 min walk to the port of Piano Di Sorrento, so it’s easy if you plan a day trip to Capri or Positano by boat. Breakfast was a straightforward continental breakfast (Italians are not big on breakfast like the Americans). Thank you Valeria and staff for your hospitality!
