    Great except the ending

    rating27 May 2026

We stayed whilst this was still part of the Hilton scheme. We checked in and were shown to our room which had a lovely side view with a balcony. The rooms weren’t modern but it was comfortable and we slept really well. The breakfast was amazing. The view on the terrace whilst eating breakfast was stunning and the quality of the food was high with some bubbles to add elegance. The pool area was good but limited so you had to get down there at a decent time to get a space, but there were loungers on the roof if you missed out and there was a jacuzzi on the roof as well. Overall I had a really great time until it came to the last night. I have an allergy to shellfish and sadly on our last night out at a restaurant in Sorrento (not the hotel) they cross contaminated the food. Whilst it’s not an anaphylactic reaction I am violently sick until my stomach is empty and even then I’m left nauseous for many hours after. I was up and down most of the last night and at got to check out and I was still wrenching and struggling to stand up. My husband called down to the check-in desk to explain but they didn’t care and we had to leave the room with nothing else offered so I laid on the couch by the bar and was up and down. It was miserable and I thought the service was so poor to do that to someone. This is why I couldn’t give it 5* as the ending and lack of care really left a bad taste in my mouth. Grand Hotel Angiolieri, Proprietario at Grand Hotel Angiolieri, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your stay with us.We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed so many aspects of your visit – from the comfortable accommodations and stunning balcony views to our breakfast service on the terrace and the pool facilities. It's wonderful to know that these elements contributed to a memorable experience. However, we're truly sorry to learn about the food allergy reaction you experienced during your last evening in Sorrento, and we sincerely hope you've since recovered fully. We can only imagine how difficult that must have been for you. We'd like to clarify an important point regarding your checkout experience: our staff works incredibly hard every day to ensure our guests' happiness and comfort. We want to emphasize that we never deny any guest the ability to remain at the property after checkout time. While the room itself must be vacated by 11:00 AM as per our standard policy, guests are always welcome to use our common areas and facilities. Additionally, late checkout during the afternoon is available subject to room availability for a supplemental fee, which we would have been happy to arrange had we been made aware of your situation. We regret if there was any miscommunication during this difficult moment, and we would have appreciated the opportunity to better assist you during your time of need. Your feedback is valuable to us as we continuously strive to improve our service. We hope you'll consider giving us another opportunity to provide you with the excellent experience you deserve.Warmest regards

    Amazing

    rating23 Nov 2025

We had an absolutely fantastic vacation on this hotel one week this summer. This hotel have almost everything. Great food, service and atmosphere! Amazing. The service was always fantastic -everyone, the bar staff, cleaning staff, restaurant staff and the reception staff was amazing. They cleaned to times every day, I love that. If we need to say something, after stay at many 5 stars hotel earlier we reacted on that the room was so small and the bed was a little hard. The location was a little more far away from everything than we expected. But on the other hand It’s nice and quiet. But if you want to go to Sorrento it’s a little expensive with taxi, and it’s a little bit far to walk to the local town Seiano -but i recommend to go there! After all we love the stay and will definitely recommend this hotel. Very romantic place, you should definitely go. The view is absolutely amazing!

Staff is Five Stars but all other Aspects are Two Stars at Best

    rating15 Sept 2025

If you are considering booking this hotel and expect a five star experience, think again. The staff was outstanding but the rooms and amenities were not. BEWARE there are rooms that have a tub only and not a shower. We specifically wanted a terrace & booked an upgraded room on the third floor (Room #303). We arrived to find that there was no shower which is positively ridiculous for a five star hotel. We requested a room change to get a shower but did have to spend one night in room #303. This could have been my own mistake but my sister (room #305) was shocked to find the same thing. Additionally, the mattress in room #303 was rock hard. It was almost like sleeping on a tile floor. The next day the staff moved us to room #106 which was a corner suite. It was a very odd layout but it appeared recently renovated AND it had a shower. The shower was upstairs with the bed but there was no mirror & vanity upstairs (just a toilet, shower & tiny sink), so for a woman it required going downstairs to use the sink/mirror/vanity to dry your hair and apply makeup after showering (there was a second bathroom on the main floor but it was really odd that there was a big bathtub sitting right in front of the sitting area and the entrance to the terrace). There was a terrace but it was quite small although it had a nice view. The mattress/bed was comfortable & much better than the rock hard bed on our first night. For our final night we were moved again by the staff in order to have a shower. This time we were in the most basic room they had on the fifth floor (#504). The room was tiny and in dire need of renovating. The shower did not drain well. This was the final stop of our multi week trip to Italy traveling around. I was so excited to arrive at what I was expecting to be a five star hotel with an upgraded suite with a beautiful terrace. Although I appreciated the staff locating rooms for us that had a shower, the packing up repeatedly to move to different rooms was definitely not fun. I will again point out that all of the staff was amazing and helpful throughout our stay. The pool is small & does not have adequate chase lounge chairs for the size of the property. We did not spend a lot of time at the pool but if you want to be able to enjoy the outdoor space at the pool, I would look elsewhere to stay. We would have liked to sit by the pool in the afternoon on the day of our arrival, but there were no chaise loungers available at that time.

    Great place to stay

    rating07 Sept 2025

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Hotel Grand Angiolieri. The hotel itself is stunning, with breathtaking views that make every moment unforgettable. The food was exceptional – both in quality and presentation – truly a delight for the senses. What made the experience even more special was the warm hospitality. The entire staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and comfortable. I would like to give special thanks to Adriana, Emanuella, Annalisa, Ida, and Anna Chiara – each of them was perfectly kind, attentive, and genuine in their care.It is rare to find such an exclusive experience, with excellent cuisine and heartfelt service. I wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Grand Angiolieri and very much look forward to returning.
