    worst experience of my life.

    rating26 Sept 2024

The worst, dirtiest old hotel I've ever stayed at. Everything is old and dirty. The staff is very unfriendly—never helpful. The worst part was that even though the balcony was closed, there were mosquitoes everywhere. We killed mosquitoes until 4:30 in the morning. Then we realized they were coming through the ventilation shaft. They bit us all over. There was no mirror in the room, not even a showerhead. At 7 a.m., we were woken up by the sound of a vacuum cleaner and the cleaners shouting to each other. Everything was terrible, a mosquito-infested, filthy old hotel. The coffee at breakfast was burnt and disgusting. I couldn't drink it. Everything was awful. I want a refund. It was the worst experience of my life.

Go elsewhere - 4* hotel........ in 1981 maybe!

    rating21 Sept 2024

Firstly positive comments :-1. Private beach was fantastic. We lived on that beach for 6 days. It was wonderful. Private bar area for alcohol, wonderful coffee and ice cream next to the sun loungers. 2. Breakfast and lunch in the outside seating of hotel area was lovely. Overlooked the beach. This public area of the hotel was the nicest area of the site save for the beach. 3. Seating in the garden just away from the pool area for evening drinks was lovely. 4. Couple of places to eat for dinner each night found off the beach nearby. We had some fantastic food watching the sun sets each day on a gorgeous beach5. Bathroom of room 401 was fine. Appeared to be the only place in the building that was relatively up to date! ----------------------------------------------Negative comments :-1. Exterior of hotel is in a poor state. On first arrival, our hearts sank. It looked tatty and in a state of disrepair.2. Public areas (reception, lounge, lifts, inside dining room) - all clean but just hasn't had an update for decades. A little depressing describes it well3. Swimming pool. Sea water. Green mould around the pool edges for the entire week. It was hardly used by ANY guests for our weeks stay.4. Evening dining:- the room has the look and atmosphere (eg no music) of a 1980s school hall. The menu was very very limited. We ate there on first night and never went back..... We did check the menu every day just to see if we were missing out. We were not. We were thankful we were not full board.5. Our room (401), had a 'pine view'. It looked towards the mountains at the front if the hotel. The smallest double bed you could find. The bedside cabinet prevented the wardrobe opening. No iron, ironing board, no tea & coffee facilities. The sign you place in the door that related to room service & do not disturb was made of paper and was ripped on day one and couldn't be used. We asked for a new one. They had none. We had to make up one up and fashion a door tie with hair bobbles so we could communicate with cleaners!

    Welcome back to 1974

    rating11 Jul 2022

Just arrived back from a weeks holiday with 10 members of my family , this place is in need of an upgrade , it’s no way 4 star , more like 2 , it is clean and in a good location , that’s the good points , but the rooms are very basic , no tea/ coffee making facilities , and when I asked for a kettle I was told no by a very rude manager , who actually shouted at me , no mini bar as advertised , in fact your not even allowed to put your own drinks in the fridge or they will be confiscated , the breakfast is basic , the swimming pools were dirty especially the children’s pool , it had green slime all around the edge , the whole place felt unloved and uncared for which is a shame , most of the staff are lovely , but the manager is awful and very rude , this place is massively overpriced , there are much better places to stay in pula area

Relax holiday in a confortable hotel

    rating01 Oct 2020

We booked Hotel Abamar for one week in september. We had a very pleasant stay. The rooms are small but confortable. We had a Pineta view, very nice, on the 5th floor. I can only image how the Sea view is ... Looked amazing (for additional fee). The swimming pool IS HUGE, but a lot of products makes it not really nice to swim in. The hotel is right on the beach, very pleasant to walk down in the morning or sunset and have a walk by the beach. The staff is friendly, especially the barman - a very nice man with always good cocktails. Ladies at reception are very nice too. However, the breakfast was terrible ... Due to covid, no buffet, but table service - good point and congratulations if only the waiters would wear their mask above their nose which they didn't. We had to wait up to 30/40min for the breakfast to be served. Also, the quality isn't there, dry bref, powder fruit juice ... It was not meeting our expectations for a 4* hotel. So buffet OK i understand, but the staff wasn't even wearing their mask properly even after we ask them to... nevermind. Regarding the room, confortable bed, nice balcony and clean bathroom. The room service was good as our room was spotless everyday. The only thing was the insonorisation - we could hear everything for the corridor... Other than that, I recommend this hotel in the region, for a relax stay just by the beach.

Grand Hotel back in its glory days

    rating20 Jul 2020

We really enjoyed spending 3 nights in this fantastic hotel, staying in the suite penthouse. The sea view and mountain view are both breathtaking, that room has the opportunity to view the front and the back at the same time (with the Jacuzzi as a nice add on). The swimming pool is well cleaned up and there is also a tennis court. The beach is great and only with two rows, very quiet and peaceful. I don’t know I just had a mixed feeling to be back in a Tv Series called ‘Falcon Crest’ just for the Pineta sorrounding the hotel. Really magic!Staff was really helpful! The only remark a bit more of ‘frutta fresca’ for breakfast will be appreciated, but I know how difficult is to run a hotel under COVID. Highly recommended !
