It is right in the middle of Baveno's town centre, which has many shops, restaurants and bars, as well as a tourist information centre. It is just a few minutes’ walk to the sandy beach and to the park. The train station is about 500 metres from the hotel.

Very Strong Fragrance in Hotel and Room

Unfortunately, our experience at Grand Hotel Dino was very disappointing.We were so impressed by the beautiful grounds that, after arriving in Stresa, we decided to book a two-night stay at the hotel. We were genuinely looking forward to staying there.Unfortunately, as soon as we entered the hotel, we were overwhelmed by a very strong perfume/fragrance throughout the property. Both my husband and I immediately developed headaches, and I experienced significant sinus and breathing discomfort. We initially hoped the fragrance would be less noticeable in the guest room, but unfortunately it was just as strong there.We did not unpack our luggage and remained at the hotel for less than an hour before realizing that we simply could not stay overnight without becoming unwell. My husband spoke with reception immediately, and we left.The receptionist who assisted us was kind and understanding. However, when the matter was referred to management, we were told that we would still be charged for the first night. We subsequently contacted the corporate management in the hope that they might reconsider, explaining that we had left almost immediately because of the overwhelming fragrance and had not used the room.While management did allow us to cancel the second night without charge, they ultimately declined to refund the first night.I understand that fragrance sensitivity varies from person to person, and I am not suggesting that everyone will have the same experience. However, I do think guests should be made aware that the hotel uses a noticeable fragrance throughout its common areas and guest rooms, particularly those who are sensitive to scented products.The property itself is beautiful, and our experience with the receptionist was courteous. Unfortunately, the combination of the overwhelming fragrance and the lack of flexibility from management left us very disappointed and unable to recommend the hotel.Lise Leela

Stunning Lake Views, but No Sleep Due to Nightclub Noise

The hotel is in a truly gorgeous location, right by the lake, and the setting is undoubtedly its greatest asset. The rooms are somewhat dated, but this is something one could live with given the beautiful surroundings.Unfortunately, the experience was completely overshadowed by a nightclub across the lake. Guests in lake-facing rooms are subjected to extremely loud bass-heavy music late into the night. As I write this, it is 1:30 a.m., and this is the second consecutive night with little sleep thanks to the club.This is not the hotel’s fault, but it has a very real impact on a guest’s stay. A holiday should be restorative, not something one needs to recover from afterward. For that reason, I cannot recommend this hotel while the nightclub is operating, especially to anyone who values peace, rest, or a good night’s sleep.

Nice place for short stay

Location is excellent, Atmosphere is good, rooms are nice with a balcony overlooking the pool and the lake. Cleanliness with a question mark, amnesties normal, they don't serve small bottles of water in the rooms, except on the first day of arrivals. Value on the expensive range, serve gluten free breakfast. Must pay extra 12€ to use the gym very strange it is not included in the hotel room fees.

Where do I start? Staff attitude bad, Inches between bed chairs around pool area, tables not cleared for hours, poor service. Hours in queue to order food/drinks. Extra costs on car parking, booking spa treatments… anything they can charge extra for then they will. Surcharge automatically added despite very poor services. Nobody to assist with luggage, no disabled parking spaces available as reserved for other guests. We are pleased to be staying just one night. We will not be a returning guest.

Fantastic place. Do try and get a room with a view. The rooms are larger than average and excessively opulent. Beautiful.
