Hotel for huge groups - 4 buses in front this morning people everywhere …. Lot of noise … so if you want a quiet place - forget it ! Dinning room seems to a youth camp far away from a 4 star hotel - even if the waiters are very kind. Not mentioning the prices vs quantities in the “restaurant” …

This hotel is simply stunning!!! Its like stepping back in time to old Hollywood glamour! The decor is gorgeous, dining rooms, bar and rooms are exquisite.Breakfast had a vast selection which was constantly restocked. Evening meal was chosen from a menu, served under galoshes by the staff.Drinks however are extortionate, 6 euros for a bottle of water, small beer 6 euros and a cocktail was 18 euros!!! Mini fridge in room is charged too however if you removed items to store your own drinks you are charged 5 euros and day! Which in 34 degrees is ridiculous.Only other gripe was that the pool was closed after a morning of rain, the wearher cleared up and was glorious sunshine, however the pool remained closed due to no lifeguard. Staff said it was Italian law to have a lifeguard however the indoor pool was not manned neither was the pool in the hotel next door, so on a glorious sunny afternoon no guests could use the pool. On the whole the hotel is fabulous but a few issues stop it from being g 5 star in my wyes.

This hotel is truly one of the very best we have ever stayed in! Its locaton is superb, the rooms are clean, spacious and perfect. The decor, absolutely exquisite and true to to history of the hotel. The gardens are lush, tranquil and enchanting. They transport you to a place of calm and the service - excellent. The food in the Charleston restaurant was totally mouthwatering made all the better for the care and attention shown to us by Silvio and Marcello! The time and care taken over Silvio's crepe suzette was something to behold. All of the staff were wonderful but these two gentleman were extra attentive and so knowledgeable and happy to share the history of this magnificient hotel. We will return! 10/10 for everything

Beautiful hotel with old-world charm

We stayed 3 nights. The hotel is beautiful and reminds you of days gone by.The rooms are ok-ish. 3 bad points: only 1 pillow each and much too soft, no complimentary water, and the minibar is filled by an outside company so you can't put anything of your own in - you get charged just for moving the bottles.Breakfast: I understand it's not easy to feed hundreds of guests at the same time, but the few hot items that were included in the breakfast (without extra charge - several basic items like omelette or fried eggs were charged extra) were not the best I have had on a buffet. The scrambled eggs were more like a soup. The sausages were not labeled - chicken, beef or pork?Service was very good and fast, with so many waiters all dressed as if right out of the "Grand Budapest Hotel" movie. Reception was excellent, especially when half the hotel was checking out at the same time as us. Very efficient and friendly.The pool behind the hotel is nice and clean and nobody of the guests cared about the closing time displayed (18:00) which is clearly to early for mid summer. The pool in the Wellness Centre, decorated as a cave, was great - nice and warm water with lots of jets to give yourself a massage.Overall a very nice hotel and we enjoyed our time being guests at the Regina Palace, but next time I may try another one on the Stresa strip to compare.

Sensational hotel

Just spent 6 days here. Absolutely stunning hotel which takes your breath away at every turn. We loved it. Room great. Air-conditioning fine. Breakfast astonishing. Staff brilliant. The only thing that spoilt things relates to drinks in room. There are no tea or coffee facilities..a real omission given its 4 star rating. There is no complimentary water available in room...a real sadness given it was 37C outside. But the worst thing is that the minibar is remotely operated... and if you put your own water or other drink in fridge, there is a 5 euro per day charge ... I've never heard of such a charge in my life. Hence my rating isn't as high as it could be. Please think again this policy.
