    Convenient to Cruise Terminal!

    The staff are very friendly and checkin was quick and easy. Our stay included a full breakfast (see photos). There is a breakfast continental buffet and food to order - both included with the breakfast. There are some premium options for a small fee; but you will get plenty with the free portions. The bacon was exceptional. The reception desk is a bit hidden; when entering it’s in a small alcove to your right. The room was very comfortable with a king size bed slightly firm which seems to be common for European hotels. Also as typical, you need to insert your room key (or any plastic card) to turn the lights /power on to the room. Expect it to be slightly warm (summer) when entering the room but it will cool off quickly once you insert the card upon entering the room. There is a stock mini fridge. A natural (non friz) bottle of water is provided along with coffee and tea with a hot water maker. Plenty of storage for hanging items and suitcase storage. As I have found with most Italian hotels, it is hard to find English speaking channels in the TV but they are there. But get out and enjoy the streets rather than TV! Lots of restaurants and shops. Our favorite ristorante was Caffe Eppinger (see separate review) and for Gelato (according to a local - best in the area is Zampollis - and we agree! (see separate review).     Always a great experience

    We have been staying at the Continentale since 2016, always for long stays. This time was for 16 days and we always ask for and get the same room. We did our reservation thru emails and all went smoothly, with their responses being very quick. Once we arrived the reception ladies were very welcoming and friendly. when we had questions during our stay they were very willing to help. The remodeling was complete and I think they did a great job. Our room was always spotless everyday with ammenities always supplied. They have a wonderful outdoor cafe that we took advantage of every morning. The breakfast menu was very good but I will say that I preferred it when they did the buffet in years past, seemed like more options then. What I will say is that the server staff in the mornings was exceptional. We got to know most of them. But the standout among them was AYA. She always met us with a smile and two cups of cappucino. She knew everyday what we were going to order, always checked on us to see if we needed anything and really got to know us. She is a big reason why we enjoyed our stay there so much. The hotel is in the perfect spot to see everything in Trieste just by walking. Restaurants are very nearby and plentiful. It is a pedestrian walkway so it's comfortable to sit outside and not worry about traffic. We had more than enough room for 16 days worth of clothing and a very comfortable king size bed. Since we had family spread thoughout Trieste, it was very easy for them to pick us up from time to time for whatever plans they had for us. This is why we stay there everytime we come to Trieste to visit family.     This hotel and its staff are a sheer delight. Stylish rooms, exceptional breakfast and in the heart of the old town so convenient to walk anywhere. Splendid bar and a relaxing ambience. We will be back a third time.

    This is such a wonderful find. Olga in reservations could not be more helpful and ensured everything was perfect. Wonderful spacious rooms, great shower and all the staff were charming. Location perfect. There sister hotel the modernist was a treat for dinner too.
