  Difficult night at Trieste 411

  This is one place I would avoid. Getting to it by car and into it is a nightmare. No place to unload as it is right next to an active tramline; in fact it’s dangerous to try but Trieste 411 says nothing about this online. Arrived just before 7 pm due to traffic, rain, and toll gate problem backup. Receptionist quickly explained the keys and told us there was great coffee in the room….Nescafe!! She also said she sent me instructions about the place (not received until AFTER we arrived.) Then she was gone. A lot of money for so little…no service, slow lift to floor reception is on and our room was on next level. Met a fellow customer who also called the place a nightmare and next morning we met 2 more travelers perplexed on how to get into the place due to poor signage. Not really a “hotel” .

  Experience Trieste like a Local

  Felt less like a tourist in a hotel but more like a local in an apartment, maybe small but perfect for my visit to Trieste. The hotel is on a slight hill and you buzz in to enter a nondescript building lobby and take the stairs or small lift to reception and rooms. Reception is a small desk on one of maybe 2 floors with rooms. Check in was quick and efficient. Later in the stay, reception was very helpful when a ticket needed to be printed.My room was small but reasonably sized for one person or a couple, clean, modern and well appointed with comfortable bed, open wardrobe with safe, long table with cushion chairs, wall-mounted flatscreen TV, mini fridge and free coffee/tea and daily wafer snacks. The bathroom was small with just enough space to move around a large modern sink, bidet, toilet and shower. Air conditioning worked well, appreciated after exploring during hot summer days. Location is a good point within walking distance of both the train station (5 min) and all main tourist spots like the Canal Grande (10 min walk), Unity of Italy Square (Piazza Unita d’Italia) (15 min), Castle of San Giusto (Castello di San Giusto) (20 min), and harbor/port areas. The historic Opicina tram tracks run past the hotel with its station just down the slight hill from the hotel. Cafes and restaurants are not in the immediate vicinity, but within reasonable walking distance (10-15 min). A good gelato shop is a block away - it was hard to pass by without stopping in for a cone.So experience Trieste like a local and stay at Trieste 411.

  Beautiful room in great location

  Lovely place for an overnight in Trieste. Great location close to station and only a short walk to the sights of the city. Lovely room with everything you would need and comfy beds too! Trieste is a lovely city to visit and we enjoyed a dip in the sea at Lantern Beach.

  We were a family of 4 and stayed in Trieste 411 last weekend. We had an amazing and comfortable stay. We had like a small flatlet with a kitchenette, 2 bedrooms and 2 shower rooms!! Also, we had 2 air-conditions, one in each room as well as 2 TVs. This was luxury for us 😊. The rooms were clean and beds comfortable. It was simply value for money. Location central. Receptionists were very helpful and speak good English.I would definitely recommend Trieste 411.

  Lovely hotel, great location!

  First of all it was so easy to get the train from the airport straight to the central train station, and it was a 5 minute walk from there to the hotel. We arrived late in the evening and I was worried that it might be a problem getting in as they don't have a 24hr reception, but they sent us instructions which were super-easy to follow. The staff, when we met them the next morning, were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, spotless and very comfortable. We were given a voucher for breakfast in a nearby cafe/bar, (Harry's), which was excellent. The location is great for visiting Trieste. It's a 10 minute walk to the Grand canal and the Piazza Unita d'Italia which are right in the centre, where all the shops, restaurants and bars are. I highly recommend this hotel.
