    Connecting doors and early-morning noise

    Overall, the hotel is very nice. Unfortunately, my room had connecting doors to the neighboring rooms, and from one of them I could clearly hear conversation or TV noise until well past midnight. Early in the morning, even with earplugs, I was woken by a clearly audible humming noise from machinery in the garden. It went on for at least an hour, and I never found out what it was. I would have appreciated being informed about the connecting doors when booking, as I would have chosen differently had I known.

    Excellent hotel! Great check in, great rooms. Clean and the a/c work. Wonderful bathrooms though there was only one soap for body and hair which is awful and there was no conditioner.     This hotel's best days are behind it.

    This hotel's best days are behind it. Don't be fooled by the hotel's pictures on TripAdvisor, look for guest photos. The room was small even though we booked a "deluxe" room. The furniture was old and beat. Parking is a total mess, getting in an out was difficult and parking is not included. But the hotel is close to the train station and right on the edge of the historic downtown section which is very quaint - so its in a good location if you are traveling by train. Some of the staff are pleasant, others not so much. They limit the number of internet connections, I had to go to the front desk and ask that they turn on the a/c, and there were other things that just set the wrong tone. That said, they are selling rooms at a fairly good price. So it depends on what's most important to you. Bolzano is an industrial town primarily, with a small and charming old section. However it's not a great base camp for a multi-day visit to the Dolomites, because you will travel close to an hour to get into the best parts - and the best parts go way beyond that. I would recommend staying in Ortisei or one of the charming towns in the Dolomites where the properties are newer or better updated.     Lovely hotel in Bolzano!

    We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting the Dolomites in Italy. The hotel has a lovely location in Bolzano close to the train station and other sites. There is a heated pool, garden with lovely hydrangeas and very pretty dining room. Breakfast was wonderful. We really like the old world feel of this hotel. Our room was quite nice and comfortable.
