  A really nice hotel in a perfect location with glorious views. Charming, friendly staff and a really nice overnight in Courmayeur for a blast of luxury. It's a great place to stay- modern but very well done. The spa is superb- really nice sauna, steam room and pool.Restaurant was fine- the food was good but the veal steak a bit bland. Fabulous wine list.One thing that annoyed me was that we paid a substantial deposit (for the hotel and the restuarant) when we booked. It took a month for this to be refunded.

  Mountains—what mountains?

  What they promise:“Our rooms feature contemporary, high-class furnishings and spectacular views of the magnificent surrounding mountains, providing an unparalleled visual experience.”What you actually get:Trees, trees and more trees but no view of the mountains. Any I didn’t book the cheapest room either. Spent an extra ~$100 to make sure the room had a view. No dice. Can I get a room with a view?“Sure.   This is our second stay at the Grand Hotel. Last summer we were there for nearly two weeks and this year we went back for one week. Firstly to praise are the staff, they are wonderful! Warm, welcoming without being „false“ in any way, just great. Secondly the rooms are fantastic, as are the beds and pillows (which are the most important things!). Thirdly the Spa, all aspects, from the pool, to the steam room to the massages. Then the Equinox bar was great - new this year. Positioned at the top end of Courmayeur, near the park which was great for us with our dog. And then my last praise was the love and attention paid to our beloved Phoenix, he really felt like a prince!   Had a great time at this hotel. The rooms and large and beautiful, the breakfast was delicious and the transfer car to and from the ski lift was really convenient. Location is great - just a short 10 min walk to the main street in town. Parking was easy - we just parked in the free car pack 5 mins from the hotel. Spa was nice but overcrowded which was annoying at times. Bar area was nice qand a good place to relax at night.
