Hotel is very good, but you must think about the service

The hotel is very nice, very elegant, the spa area is really beautiful, but the service is really not good, The stuff is very arrogant, and the weather is fine, but we got no seats for the Sun chair, I just no service on the terrace in front of the hotel, The ladies in the wellness center are great And the massages are the best I ever had

The hotel itself is beautiful; a gorgeous old palace of a building that has been well maintained. Rooms are modern and large. We were there during COVID so it was a little quiet and you could tell that not all facilities were fully operating, but they were doing a great job with limited staff and guests. What really set this place apart was the customer service and care that the team showed us. We had a bit of a unique situation, in that we arrived to the hotel with our car overheating -- it broke down literally as we arrived in the parking lot. The staff sprung into action, helped us find a local mechanic, arranged taxis for us to get to a rental car, and went above and beyond in terms of helping us liaise with the local service providers (particularly since we do not speak Italian). They made us feel welcome and supported during a really stressful situation, and we are so thankful for the team including Roberto and the rest of the staff and management. We hope to be back next time we are in the Aosta valley. Looks great, room looks good. But heating is on high with no working option to turn down. Think you can use the indoor pool! Read the small print, me and other guests didn’t. 39euro pp to use the pool per day! Breakfast was ok but a lot of things listed on the buffet you have to pay extra for(smoke salmon for example). Only one restaurant open, very formal not really for families.

Take a jewel: the Billia resort (Grand Hotel 5*and Park Hotel 4*). It’s in a perfect location (mountain, casino etc), was completely refurbished a few years back, boasts several restaurants with stunning views, offers 4 and 5 stars accommodation and a beautiful SPA.Any professional, right minded and skilful management team would work wonders with such a gem.Here no! Mediocrity seems to be the goal and I must admit they make it systematically. They even manage to over achieve it with making it even sometimes to bad and carelessness. Prior to our stay, I e-mailed the hotel to ensure our bed would be fitted with a mattress topper as we did on our first visit in February. This was confirmed even at check-in. But at the end, the answer was “we don’t have mattress toppers”. Should we have known that we would have gone somewhere else to protect our backs. I’m also curious to know what happened to the one that was arranged on our first stay.During our two nights stay we didn’t see any member of staff smile... says a lot! The place suffers under maintenance. The spa water jets that were not working in February were still out of order 9 months later... The room was already worn out and we even spotted a well rotten pumpkin in the bar area.The resort boasts many beautiful restaurants but with only one common and limited menu featuring tiny portions of bland and overpriced food. So sad for a region with such a gastronomic reputation.Despite complaining during our stay either at reception or by e-mail, nothing was done and our requests casually ignored.And even simple requests like an additional pillow or refill of the courtesy tray with sugar and tea missed by housekeeping had to be requested twice.Needless to stay this was our second and last stay. But if you’re into mediocrity, make sure to pay them a visit. They’ll be happy to take your money without a smile and ensure to casually ignore your requests and well being.
