Great position next the piste and perfectly good for a family holiday

We’d seen some patchy reviews on here prior to visiting but we were pleasantly surprised. We couldn’t check in until 2pm despite some of our party arriving quite a bit earlier. The staff were very pleasant and the food was plentiful and tasty. Our only criticisms were a cramped boot room and the shower in our en-suite was hopelessly weak!

Great stay in March 22 with old friends and new friends. Great location, lovely staff and a good 2-3* experience.

Had a great week at this 2-3* hotel in March 22. Perfectly situated for the Clotes ski chair only 50m away and an almost ski home experience to the end of the drive to the hotel.Lovely staff who couldn’t do more to help, rooms cleaned daily. It’s a great budget hotel with a cosy and friendly bar environment that encourages groups to interact and socialise and make new friends which worked great for us.If you are used to 5 star comfort and facilities and critique everywhere you stay against a Hyatt or Continental Hotel standard then I’d recommend you pay 3-4 times more and look elsewhere. If you want somewhere clean and friendly to stay right next to a ski lift and can cope with a hit and Miss shower (Adds to the excitement of the day) you can’t go wrong with the Hermitage hotel. Also well placed for the short walk into the towns plentiful bars.Staff were brilliant and friendly throughout, food was varied and plentiful in the evenings with regular continental fare in the mornings but plenty of variety to suite all tastes (No full English option unfortunately but you can get that in town). My only recommendation to the hotel would be upgrade the shower plumbing, maybe add an inline pressure pump.I would happily stay here again and recommend it as a great budget hotel option to any visitors to Sauze.

Don’t worry about the negative reviews

    rating11 Mar 2022

HiWe came here with another couple and were worried because of the negative reviews that we would have a terrible experience and therefore a terrible holiday, that is not the case. The food and staff are very accommodating and do speak English very well, which was actually disappointing because I was hoping that I’d get the opportunity to practice my Italian. The rooms are basic, but comfortable. It’s a 3star hotel. I suggest if you want more, pay more and stay in a 4 star hotel. We have skied in and out daily. We intend to come “here” again next year

    Very pleasant stay

    rating10 Mar 2022

If you are due to come to this hotel and have read the recent negative reviews, please do not be concerned. My husband and I came here with 2 friends and I can honestly say that our stay at this hotel has been quite pleasant. All the staff are really friendly, helpful and very accommodating. I saw a review that said some of the staff couldn't speak English (which I thought was quite rude) but everyone here speaks perfectly good English. I read these reviews just before coming here and thought that I was in for a dreadful holiday, that was not the case. Also, speaking to others in the hotel, they are of the same opinion. If we were to come to Sauze D'oulx again, we would definitely stay here. The rooms are basic but comfortable. For breakfast you have a choice of cereal, yogurt boiled eggs croissants etc. Evening meal is antipasto, followed by a starter, main course and dessert, which you choose on the morning (don't forget to choose your vegetables, that are also listed). You can leave the boot room and walk to the travelator at the side of the hotel. We didn't bother going down to the start of it, we jumped on half way up. It takes you straight to the Clotes chair lift. You can ski down on a red run to get back to the hotel but if you are unable to, it's not the fault of the hotel.

I was moved here at the last minute by Inghams, it’s close to Town but everything else is a downgrade. Rooms are poor with uncomfortable camp beds, the food is distinctly average. The front of house staff are doing their best but it will be the last time I use Inghams.
