Location

The hotel is 15-minute drive from the A32 motorway and overlooks the surrounding mountains of Sauze D'Oulx. The ski lifts of the ski resort of Via Lattea are 300 m and the Gran Bosco di Salbertrand Nature Reserve is around 800 m away from the hotel.

    Not as good as first impressions!

    First impressions of the hotel were great, especially after staying in a different hotel in Sauze last year that just wasn’t up to standard. The novelty of the floors at Hotel Torre was cool and the room had recently been renovated, very stylish, spacious and just what we needed for a snowboarding break. Small fridge too! Unfortunately our TV was not a smart TV like many others (we went with 70 friends!) - my partner was injured and so couldn’t snowboard for the week, so was disappointed that we did not have a smart TV. When we arrived, for the first few days, smoke alarms and fire call points were not present with just cables hanging out! Totally wouldn’t be allowed in the UK! Thankfully this got sorted by the end of our trip. The lifts were very slow and temperamental, and when staying on the 6th floor, with an injury, we were somewhat reliant on them! The door to our room did not seal properly, the room was extremely hot with the window only opening a little at the top, however, this created a very noisy draft from the door, and in turn dragged up some awful hydrogen sulphide smell from the drains! The food had good variety and in the main kept us both happy. The lack of tap water available at dinner, requiring guests to buy bottled water just wasn’t good enough, when the bar prices were so expensive too! Most of the staff were friendly and more than happy to help with questions about local arrangements. All in all, it was a nice stay, but it definitely could have been better!

    Unimpressive "4*" hotel with misleading website information!

    23 of us on a Ski group trip 29/1 to 3/2/26. Hotel is comfortable enough but certainly NOT 4* As per their own website : This hotel has a spa and swimming pool. It does NOT!! According to the spa and also to the fairly sour hotel desk staff, the spa is NOT part of the hotel - it costs 48 Euro per DAY - no discount for multiple days - ( even if you only want to swim) less a whole 10% for guests! I was really looking forward to the pool after skiing each day and was very disappointed to find this out and made my feelings clear, but no one interested. Also very lacking in information in the rooms with no phone to reception, wifi code, shuttle bus times, hotel info etc and nothing in the room except 2 tiny shower gel bottles and 2 of the cheapest possible plastic cups. We asked for glasses for the room but the bar manager was horrified and the grumpy restaurant manager was so cross about me taking 2 tumblers from the restaurant that I think he wanted to punch me! I offered to buy them and he said No and when I set them on the bar and told him to keep them he told me to take them!! All in all not impressed and if it was totally renovated late 2025, I really would NOT have wanted to be there before that!

    The hotel is rates a 4 star but unfortunately while the rooms and building is impressive, the food and service is totally un acceptable, food is boring, bland, repeditive and more of the quality of a 2 star it reminded me of school canteed food ithe the breakfast swimming in fat, going out to eat is the best option as it showed by the empty tables. The drinks were double what you would expect to pay 10 euro for a simple beer you are charged for anything including plain,water with the evening meal, we asked for a simple tea bag and they wanted 3 euros just for the bag, its laughable.     Wow! What a beautiful hotel and a gorgeous holiday❤️ me and my family had the best time here! The food was absolutely to die for, staff were lovely and the rooms were stunning! I have a very severe nut allergy and before every meal the restraunt manager and chef showed me everything I could eat before everyone came into the restaurant they were so lovely and I’d go back in a heartbeatSauze itself was a lovely resort has a lot of fun in the Derby bar and the Queens in Kareoke night. Thank you La Torre we will be back😊

    Disappointing family holiday

    Arrival shambolic with no check-in until 3pm despite arrival in resort at 12. Ski hire not available until 3pm either so other than eat lunch, not much to do. Reception / bar area of hotel rather tired, lifts very tempremental. Rooms a good size but bathroom looking tired and poorly touched up. School groups noisy, and the open plan nature of the hotel allows sound to echo. Dinner plentiful but annoying that you have to buy bottled water. Breakfast less appealing, poor choice of cereals. Most disappolinting is that the hotel is described as a spa and wellness hotel. To be clear, it is absolutely NOT. The spa is located oposite, and is run entirely separately. Entrance is for a spa experience and the price certainly reflects this. Reluctant to alliw entry for gym or pool use only. The mandatory towel, slippers and swim hat are all supplementary to qoted price. Lockers are not lockable & multiple signs remind customers that belongings are left in changing rooms at own risk. The gym was pittiful, with majority of machines out of order ( despite this being peak 1/2 term season). Regarding pricing, the suggestion is that La Torre guests have a preferential rate - v vague. Price differs day-to day and depends on own assertive negotiating, which is far from relaxing. All in all, a disappointing holiday in a tired hotel. I would say 3* at v best. And those who market it as a Spa hotel are being frankly disengenuous.
