The hotel was ok the food was nice however the meals were repetitive. The bed was comfortable and was in walking range of the slopes. They met us keep our stuff on the red slopes. It was quite noisy due to another school. It was good value for money. The hotel was clean with them changing the towels every day. Overall very good, I would go back.

Met our needs for a fantastic school trip
09 Mar 2025
School trip with 44 novice skiers organised by a tour company. On the eve of the trip I read the reviews for this hotel and I was extremely apprehensive about how bad it would be based on what people had written. Granted, it would have been awful and I gone with friends or family but if you’re looking to use this hotel as a base for a school trip then it really does work! The rooms are very basic and bot very clean and it’s true that there is a stench throughout large parts of the hotel. However, the location for skiing is incredible, only a very short walk from the ski fit and slopes and the selection of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner was really good. They have a large communal area and a small shop on site. I imagine it would be nightmare if you stayed here during the holidays and half term as it would be extremely busy but we planned out school trip during term time and this meant it wasn’t too busy. In summary, don’t expect it to be anything other than basic but if you want 3 good meals and a place to stay close to the slopes and small town for a group of students then you can’t go too wrong.

Don’t recommend

The staff were very rude , the beds were brick solid , the radiators are caged in so can’t turn them off , the room was absolutely roasting 24/7 and the windows wouldn’t open fully to let fresh air in , my girlfriend was at reception asking for bottles of water as we caught a horrible flu while we were here she told them 5 times she wasn’t feeling well and felt like she was going to pass out and they continuously ignored her and took 25 mins to get her bottled water she paid 10 euros for then I had to go back to the reception to get more toilet roll as I never once seen a cleaner to give us more or even change our towels ! They also charged me an extra 6 euros for the water when I went down as they said it was a big bottle The breakfast was also terrible and had a tray of ham , a bowl of fruit , cereal that tasted like it had sat there for weeks (stale) they also had dry croissants with icing sugar all over them I could hardly even eat it and I’m not a fussy eater I would not recommend this hotel if you are visiting Sestriere even though it’s right on the slopes I would still have rather walked an extra 5 mins to have a nicer hotel Don’t let this put you off going to Sestriere the slopes were amazing and lots of variety for all different levels ⛷️

Good hotel in top location

Good hotel for our annual school group last season as we were nervous having seen some of the reviews - it has a large communal area and good position next to slopes and town. Food good in evenings but average at breakfast. Buffet style all you can eat, with about 4 hot choices for evening meal. Lifts difficult/too busy to navigate at peak times so be aware. Rooms a little small but okay - and warm with bathroom. Boot room needs organisation in a big way though, but v good position in the town and next to slopes which made the week easy to run for us teachers. Only real gripe may be weird bar bill payment system (tokens), but that is not a biggy. Actually a handy internal layout to manage our students, and added to overall success of school ski trip. Shame swimming pool not open though which we were looking forward to, but all in a good week away.

Does what it says it will do! Doorstep ski and clean rooms. Not a honeymoon hotel but a practical ski hotel.

I am a teacher, and we have stayed here twice in the last few years on a school ski trip for my school in Surrey. If you are looking for a boutique, quintessential Italian family generation owned hotel you will be disappointed. But if you are looking for a purpose built ski hotel that is a minute walk from the slopes, is good value, has clean and perfectly adequate rooms and is 100m from the resort's slopes, shops and ice skating etc then this is it.The Good: *location, location, location. It is super close and walkable to everything we needed for our students - both during the day and in the evenings. This made my job personally so much easier - no transfers and our Yr9s+ went out in groups of 3/4. *Value. Hands down, great value for money. We have been twice through 321ski and it does offer our students a reduced cost compared to other hotels. I take the view that the students are there to experience the mountains (as a typical Geography teacher!!) and to ski, and so we do not need a more expensive venue to sleep in which may prohibit some of our students attending. *The rooms were all twin with bathrooms - this allowed me to strategically position our students with no floors separating my school group*The Food. Really good, and this was a pleasant surprise on our first trip. To be fair, it is Italy so we should have been less surprised as a school, but really impressive. The dining room seats about 60 ish at a time, so it is not big. *Seemingly endless hot showers which is now a must in my ski trip choosing.. *Larger communal rooms we could use for our briefings, quizzes etc*Access to the next door White tower hotel which is co-owned, and has a dedicated stage area, larger bar and a few shopsThe Not so Good:*The boot room needs renovating with proper lockers or dedicated areas. On our first trip we had a few "missed" skis etc (but we resolved it for our second trip with a number of laminated signs and grouped skis by bedroom). *The lifts can become busy during the peak mornings and evening sessions. The alternative is the "helter-skelter" walkway up and down which is the staircase that just keeps on going... *The bar system for payment was a little bizarre, with a number ticket system *the swimming pool was not open which was a shame but in fairness the pool in town was also shut "due to the electric prices". I was told this will open shortly, however...Overall, as a skiing hotel it is good value, safe and warm, and practical. Ideal for our purposes as a school group. That said, your new marriage would be short-lived if you choose it for a 5 star honeymoon break... It simply worked for us as a solid hotel for an affordable trip.
