  Racist behaviour of night receptionist

  What made the situation particularly concerning was the impression that the receptionist’s conduct was influenced by prejudice toward my boyfriend because of his skin color. Rather than addressing the matter in a professional manner, she spoke aggressively, raised his voice, and directed unwarranted hostility toward me, creating an intimidating and unpleasant environment.We were subjected to unfair treatment simply because I attempted to bring my boyfriend into the hotel room that had been legally reserved. At no stage were we provided with a clear or reasonable justification for the way we were treated.Every guest deserves to be welcomed and treated fairly, regardless of their appearance, ethnicity, or background. Regrettably, our experience fell far short of these basic standards. The night receptionist’s actions demonstrated a lack of professionalism and respect and gave the appearance of discriminatory behavior.Based on this experience, I would not recommend this hotel. No guest should have to endure treatment that leaves them feeling unwelcome, singled out, or unfairly judged.

  The stay was great until checking out. We had no bedbugs in our room. No luggage storage allowed at checkout so we had to go to Mestre station.

  Stayed for two nights and were given our room assignment only to find that our assigned beds were already taken. We immediately went down to the lobby to address this and they just said to take the two empty beds in that room. The second night we came back to this room only to find that my friend’s bed had someone sleeping in it. She had stuff in that bed and it very well could have been stolen. We told reception that there was just someone in her bed and instead of reassigning her they reassigned us to a different room. This was because they had booked 7 people in a 6 person room and never told us. We didn’t know who was in her bed. Both nights we had to request sheets and bedding because they were not provided to us or even after everything even offered to make our beds for us. No compensation was offered even though my friend very well could have been stolen from. The place is also insanely run down and there are no lockers available in the room. There are so many better options to stay in Venice, do not waste your time you wil regret it.

  I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding my recent experience at your Venice Mestre location. I submitted this complaint and didn’t receive a response. Due to the legal nature of the details, I hope to hear back to update the lawyer in regards to the caseDespite having a confirmed reservation, I was not notified that my stay had been cancelled. As a result, I found myself stranded at 2:00 AM in the streets of Venice Mestre, forced to urgently search for alternative accommodation. This situation was not only stressful but also placed me in a position of personal risk.I have stayed many nights at a&o Hostels across Europe—including previous enjoyable stays at Venice Mestre—and have always appreciated the quality and reliability of your service. However, this incident raises serious concerns about communication and guest safety.I request the following:1. A clear explanation of why my reservation was cancelled.2. An explanation of why I was not notified of the cancellation.3. An itemized receipt of the refund that I have not yet received.Given my loyalty as a returning guest, I trust that you will treat this matter with urgency and provide a prompt resolution.Thank you for your immediate attention.   Terrible Experience: Unhelpful Staff, Awful Breakfast, and Misleading

  I honestly wouldn’t recommend staying at a&o Venice Mestre to anyone. This was easily the worst place I’ve stayed in throughout my entire Europe trip and this was my 10th city.We arrived around 4 PM, which is supposed to be check-in time, and our rooms still weren’t ready. The front desk staff were rude, dismissive, and offered no apology or solution. It felt like they couldn’t care less that we’d just traveled for hours.When we finally got to the room, the beds were absolutely horrible paper-thin mattresses, flat pillows, and creaky frames that made it impossible to rest. The elevators were also so tiny that even with just a few people or a couple of bags, it felt claustrophobic.The breakfast was disgusting. They didn’t even have eggs, and the only two “protein” options were inedible. Everything else was cheap, stale, and flavorless. It’s ridiculous that they charge for that.What made it even worse were the cringe, tone-deaf Drake memes plastered all over the lobby. They’re clearly trying to be “relatable,” but it’s beyond inappropriate considering the serious allegations against him involving minors. It made the whole place feel tacky and uncomfortable.And finally this place should not be advertising itself as a hotel. It is absolutely a hostel, no matter what they claim. Our group specifically booked and paid extra for hotel accommodations, and this was nothing close. Calling this a hotel is completely misleading.Between the rude staff, filthy and uncomfortable rooms, awful food, and false advertising, this was hands down the worst hotel experience of my trip.
