On arrival, we noticed some rather concerning individuals hanging around the property, and the following morning, we witnessed someone injecting heroin directly outside our door. The room itself was lovely, but unfortunately, after just two nights, I was covered in bite on my face and up my arms which made the overall experience disappointing Leandro Rossetto, Direttore generale at Hotel Aaron, responded to this review Dear guest,The only thing you mentioned about the hotel was "the room itself was lovely". The other things mentioned (neighboorhood or mosquitoes) are not hotel's responsabilities.Greetings

Nice hotel, but be cautious of the areaWe had a pleasant stay at Hotel Aaron. The hotel itself is nice, our room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.Unfortunately, our experience of the surrounding area wasn't as positive. During the day we generally felt fine, but later in the evening the area could feel quite intimidating, with people hanging around and us being approached several times by people asking for cigarettes.We also had a very upsetting experience during our stay when my husband's wallet was stolen by a pickpocket while we were travelling on the number 2 bus in Mestre. His bank cards, credit cards and driving licence were taken, and shortly afterwards attempts were made to use his cards. Thankfully the transactions were declined, but we had to spend part of our holiday cancelling cards and reporting the theft to the police.This was obviously not the hotel's fault, and once inside the hotel we felt safe and comfortable. The hotel is also conveniently located for Mestre station and transport into Venice.Overall, the hotel and staff were good, but based on our experience I would advise visitors to be particularly vigilant with their belongings when travelling around Mestre and to be cautious in the surrounding area after dark.

This is our first time to Italy when we arrived by taxi, the gentleman told us it was not a safe area, we understood why because there were vagrants hanging around, also drug addicts we did not feel safe at all. Then to get to the room we had to go across the street obviously with the vagrants around. When we got to the room it was very moldy and dusty, my family and I started to experience issues sneezing, throat started hurting and we had a baby with us. We definitely couldn’t sleep there and we had to check out the same night we arrived. We requested a refund but the hotel does not wish to give us a refund. Also their pictures are not a true replica of the place it is very misleading Leandro Rossetto, Direttore generale at Hotel Aaron, responded to this review Dear guests,We do not know where you made the reservation but almost every website has a lot of pictures of the different room typologies.You wrote the reason you did not get a refund: we cannot give refunds because you felt unsafe in the district where the hotel is located.We are sorry if you were scared, but it is not something to blame the hotel for. You should have chosen the Neighbourhood of Venice considering your priorities and preferences. But that is something you needed to do way before asking the taxi driver's opinion.

Lovely staff, but some room issues

The staff here is wonderful—always friendly and smiling. The rooms are also very clean and serviced regularly. However, our stay was a bit disappointing due to the room location. Being on the ground floor, the windows were covered with privacy film, which unfortunately blocked the view entirely. The walls are also very thin. The worst part was the room design: our window was connected to the main entrance door. Every time someone entered or left the building, the window rattled loudly, making it impossible to sleep peacefully. As for breakfast, it was the same every day. The hotel would really benefit from adding some fresh vegetables to the menu.

Near to train station and if you use the no.2 bus in the next street takes you to the bus station where you can board a water taxi ( line 2 ) to St Mark's Square. The area itself is seedy and there are people selling cigarettes and other goods from rucksacks, however we are a couple of pensioners and didn't encounter any problems when going out for dinner. We just made sure we were back at the hotel before 9 0'clock. There are lots of restaurants nearby and a large supermarket. We had a beautiful, very clean room in the main building at the back of the hotel so didn't encounter any noise. The room didn't have a kettle but a lovely member of staff gave us one. The breakfast was buffet style with lots of choices and there are 3 sittings. The staff were very helpful and gave us all the information we needed. If I visit Venice again then this hotel is definitely where I would stay. Thank you for everything Hotel Aaron.
