Good location hotel with attitude

The hotel room was old and rundown. The in-room carpet was dirty and smelly while in-room desk was old with discolored mat. Hotel directory looked untouchable. Opened closet need to be upgraded. The only two good things were clean en-suite bathroom and comfortable bed. One of the reception staffs at checked in seemed to have an attitude toward Asian tourists or not, I was not sure. But I was treated differently than other guests. The hotel porter led me to a Freight elevator instead of a Guest Elevator. This is not a 4 stars hotel. I would say 3 or 2.5 stars max.You should not run a hotel if your staff would treat guests differently. I paid the same price as other guests. Your staff including the porters should be fully trained to an international hotel standard to handle and how to welcome guests with all nationalities. Tourist from Asia should be aware.

Location is fabulous. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. We booked a room over the basin so it was a bit more expensive. The staff was very helpful and booked our water taxi to tte airport. The only downside is the small elevator.

I enjoyed the location, breakfast was great, room was decent. However mattress was very firm, pillows were on flattened side for two pillows but doable. Later in stay one night stand lamp switch malfunctioned, mirror light in bathroom did not work. Staff was very helpful and polite. We had a nice dinner thru hotel recommendations, San Marco restaurant. Great service too.Overall was a great place to stay for all accommodations, Rialto to San Marco plaza was very easy walk.

Great hotel in fabulous location. Given this it was quite $$$$$$ and yet wouldn't rate this a 4 star hotel. Breakfast was very good. Bedrooms are small but comfortable however I did not have adequate hot water in my teeny tiny shower and when I raised this with reception was advised that I was the 4th person that day that had complained of hot water issues however they would not be able to fix until Monday( i reported this on Saturday). No offer of any kind was provided given i could not have a shower.
