Terrible response by management
27 May 2026
My family and I booked two rooms at this hotel for two nights. After traveling in Europe for over a week and not having any hotel issues, we arrived late at night to find the air conditioner not working properly. We explained the situation to the person at the front desk, but were told the manager controlled the temperature and it had just recently become warmer in Venice. We were told that it would have to wait until the next day when the manager came in. We slept that night without ac and opened the windows, but the mosquitos were terrible, so we eventually closed the windows and slept little with no ac and the windows closed. The next morning, we talked with the manager and he said he would fix it. After touring Venice the next day, we returned and were told by the manager that the problem was fixed, a technician had looked at the unit and that he had reduced the temperature control to go down to 19 degrees Cecil’s (66.5 Fahrenheit). We said that was fine and went on to supper. When we got back from supper, one room was still hot. I talked with the person at the front desk, he contacted the Manager, and I was told there was nothing they could do about it. I asked to change rooms but none were available and then he informed me to open the windows. I told him about the mosquitos and, only then, was told there was a pull down screen in the windows. Even with the windows down, it was miserable. At checkout the next morning, I told the manager that the issue was never fixed. He told me that it was and that the technician had looked at it the day before. I again told him it was not and that we had sweated down both nights. He went on to inform me that it was 20 degrees Celsius the night before outside and that should have been good enough to cool the room. I have used TripAdvisor for more years than I can remember and had good and bad experiences , but I never written a bad review before. After spending a good deal of money at this hotel and sweating down the first night in both rooms, explaining to the hotel staff the situation and it still not being fixed in my room for the second night, the hotel basically took no responsibility and brushed me off. I know issues can arise, such as this at any hotel, but the way the staff handle it is the key. The staff, and especially the manager, blew me off when I had a legitimate problem. I would not stay this hotel again after the way my issues were handled, and I strongly encourage anyone else to take your business elsewhere! At check out the next morning, I spoke with the manager, but was told t

Hello Mr Joseph, thank you so much for the time you spent to evaluate our hotel. We are never happy when any guest finds his/her stay here not comfortably, unfortunately we consider your words not correct with respect of how things were actually. On the first night at 1.30 am you reported one of your rooms was too warm, and we were fully booked, so at 9 am the plumber came to check the settings of the whole hotel (not of your room only), arranged a different set point to cool up the system more, and went to measure the air blowing out from your room, which came out at 19 celsius, which was very good considering our standards and the fact temperature outside in the night would have been in the range 20-27. You looked happy but in the afternoon/evening, agaoin, you told our clerk on duty your room was not cold enough according to your needs and expectations, so he came up and told you he found room not warm at all. No rooms change were possible to satisfy you being fully booked, but our clerk told you to keep windows closed and use A/C not to keep them open with a/c as that way a/c is not effective at all. Moreover, you addedd only one room was too warm, the other was fine instead (why are you texting now both the two rooms were too warm?). Btw, since our reasons were not acceptable for you, you gave it up ending any discussion with the final weapon: "I will write you a bad review" - there we go!It's not true we took no liability and that we brushed you off, I also talked to you on the first morning to explain you that if outside the temperature is 27-20 during the night and the air comes out at 19 in the room you do not feel such a big difference, but, trust me, with the windows closed you could have passed an excellent stay instead of keeping them open and get no benefit (for mosquitos there is mosquitos rack...). For your note those after you were very happy about the internal temperature instead. Just my silly note. Giacomo P.s. you are not the first and won't be the last, but everytime we got accused for something not true I become really sad since you really don't know how hard we work and take care of every single aspectp.p.s. I do not control the temperature, it is set to allow normal people to have a comfortable stayp.p.p.s. A/c machines in your rooms were ALL newp.p.p.p.s Nobody else complained this year about temperature but you

We stayed in the private apartment in the Jewish Ghetto. The location was absolutely perfect. Our host was helpful and prompt and gave excellent recommendations. The apartment was spacious and easily could have accommodated a much larger group than our group of 4. We would definitely stay here again if we get the opportunity to return to Venice.

Let down by the details
08 May 2026
A good clean hotel in a useful area near the station with 24 hour reception but with some misgivings.Breakfast is not free, 5€ for coffee and a croissant or 18€ for the works. We had ordered continental breakfast each day but they tried to charge us for the full breakfast and we had to argue quite hard to prove we had had the minimum. We had to wait most mornings to get a prepared table sometimes having to wipe the crumbs off from the previous occupants. Our room on the top floor overlooked a small piazza, there was a small safe and an aircon but no fridge. There was plentiful hanging space but only one tiny shelf for clothes so we used the spare bed for that together with our luggage. There were only 2 bedside plug sockets so you had to do away with the bedside light if you wanted to charge your phone. Likewise for the kettle which in the end we plugged into a floor socket by the bed, teabags were supplied but no milk. The shower room was very elegant but with nowhere to put the supplied soap, the shower itself had no dish for soap or shampoo which had to go on the floor. The hotel was sadly let down by these little details, design in Italy is often at the forefront but can be let down by these little things and at €300 a night we expected a little more.

Dear Sir,we wish to thank you for the time you spent to leave us a feedback, as it gives us the opportunity to explain how things have gone really. The main reason of your average rating is due to the misunderstanding (sorry: your decision to misunderstand) with our clerk when you decided to ask for breakfast every morning (BEWARE: it is possible to have breakfast included in the rate when reserving, but you reserved the rate without) because he explained you there are two options, a quick breakfast (cappuccino and brioche only), at the rate of 5€ which we do serve at the bar or outside only and the "FULL BREAKFAST" which costs 18€ and includes everything, and it is served at the table and has a buffet also where you can grab whatever you want, apart from what we do bring you at the tabel from the kitchen. At check out, you appointed you only had cappuccino and brioche because you never touched what you brought to the table, but, trust me, this is really unacceptable since you were clearly booked for the full breakfast. Btw, our clerk, after you complained about it, made you the rate of 5€ per person per breakfast, so the problem should have been considered solved (BEWARE for the 5€ you were not supposed to have any table either, you did instead, and IN TIME, it is not true you had to be waiting everyday as I was there). What about the room? No, it has several plugs anywere, you can look better next time you visit a place, as the electric system of the room has been refurnished a couple of years ago and we placed sockets all over the room itself. If you was in need of getting some milk, we are always happy to supply it FREE OF CHARGE, there is the phone to ask (24/7 service) so...Finally, bathroom: it is the LAST one we refurnished this January 2026, and you really dare there is no place for the soap??? Come on! It is true price was high, but maybe you don't know you came in the highest period of the year, when the vernissage of BIENNALE of Art occurs and prices are at their maximum, but despite this I consider you got an excellent room and a perfect service for what you paid. Do you want me to claim the 104€ you haven't paid yet? It would be fair as the nice gesture we did costs us a poor review! BestsGiacomo and Staff

Great Staff and super location!

Located near the the bus and train station, this hotel was also really handy for the Grand Canal and their regular Vaporetti. The really helpful person at reception when I arrived suggested a wander to the Ghetto area and the bars on Fondamenta dei Ormesini which was only about a 10 minute walk away and became my go-to spot in the evening. They also gave me an upgrade which was very much appreciated but I think I may have preferred a slightly larger, brighter room in the hotel itself. The general area is great, in that it's as close as it gets to what I imagine it is to actually live in Venice, with a couple of lovely places for coffee and gorgeous snacks, it's the perfect base for your tip to this amazing city.

Dear Craicup, thank you so much for your feedback :) We are glad that you have enjoyed the upgrade you got to the annex, as there rooms are by far lareger than those at the hotel, and we would have hoped to deserve 5/5 and not 4/5 only :)All the bestCheersGiacomo & Staff
