    The hotel is in very very poor condition and below some safety standards for example torn up carpet between my room and hallway major trip hazard. Nails stick out bathroom wall when the wooden door frame edging is missing. Tiles exposed cracks and peeling ceiling from water leak. Halls of hotel being used as storage behind curtains unsightly and trip hazard. When I spoke to the staff on reception they said the hotel managers knows. Everyone complains about the rooms and I should go back to my booking agent for a refund.

    This hotel is perfectly located for sightseeing being almost halfway between the Rialto Bridge and St Marks Square. The beds were comfortable and the quality of the room exceeded other 3 star hotels. Service from the front-desk staff and the breakfast staff was certainly 5 star - everybody was so cheerful and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel and, if you can, opt for a canal view room.

    We chose this hotel because of the excellent price during the month of December and perfect location . The room was a small , basic room, but clean and decent . No mold . The bathroom could have used some hair conditioner and soap in-the shower . The room was nicely heated. There are a lot of steps and no elevator , but it’s expected in a hotel in Venice . Breakfast had a great view of the canal and had a nice variety and everything was fresh . They even made cappuccio or coffee on demand . It is very close to St Mark’s square and Rialto bridge . We took the vaporetto bus from the train station and is a very short distance from the Rialto stop. It is surrounded by a lot of nice shops . Our room was very quiet . If you are looking for a clean , basic central hotel with a good breakfast , I would recommend it . The staff was pleasant and helpful

    I had booked Hotel Alcyone before I read all the negative Trip Advisor reviews and was so worried about the hotel and room before I got there. I needn’t have worried - we had a super smooth check in to a really lovely room(202)- lovely old style Venetian decor. Cosy room with comfy bed and perfect clean en-suite. Breakfast was in a gorgeous room overlooking the canal and was great- a fab and huge selection for a “continental breakfast”I would absolutely recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again! In fact I look forward to it.

    The location is awesome, very close to the famous Rialton bridge. Free breakfast. But, the first night the sink was leaking water on the floor, and the shower had only half a door. They moved me to another room the next night, but that room had no toilet seat. I didn't say anything b/c I didn't want to be a whiney American, but I can't understand why the cleaning staff don't report things like missing shower doors and toilet seats. Seems like there is not a process in place to report the conditions of the rooms. Oh, also, wifi only works downstairs next to the service desk. That was very inconvenient. It's a cute hotel but a case of you get what you pay for.
