    The location is perfect- near everything!The front desk staff were very nice and very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is a beautiful historic building so there is no elevator. We had to carry our luggage up a steep flight of marble stairs. The rooms are lovely but small. They have air conditioning but seemed reluctant to turn it on. They finally did and gave us a fan. The breakfast was very average at best. The powdered eggs were awful. The beds and pillows were hard as a rock. We woke up with aches and pains. There are pluses and minuses with this hotel. Again the location was the best

    We stayed at Hotel Antico Doge for 6 nights. It has an excellent location, very well appointed - in a former palace, comfortable, very clean, excellent staff: friendly, helpful, and speak a number of languages very well (I was learning Italian and they were also patient with that as well). The breakfast as with the hotel is quite basic in terms of facilities, but this is no problem as we chose such a hotel in a central location rather than a bigger chain.The only problem was the Air Conditioning was not working. This is a deal breaker as I would never have booked a hotel without air conditioning, and it is advertised as having it. It was only the spring, but even so the room was hot and humid. They provided a fan, but this was not that effective. Most importantly, there was no warning on the booking, on their website, or any other communication that the air conditioning, which was advertised as provided, was not present. Even the room information booklet asserted that all the room were Air Conditioned. This change should have been communicated and reflected in a price reduction.Otherwise, very happy with the hotel and staff and would recommend to anyone wanting a small family run hotel, just check the AC if that is important to you, and to the hotel, please communicate this ahead of time.

    Wonderful place, really good location. Room lovely and very clean. Breakfast was super and all the staff, reception, domestics and breakfast were friendly, helpful and professional.

    This hotel is vintage and needs some TLC. Breakfast items were fresh and service was good. Bathrooms were updated and showers were modern and plumbing was great. Location was excellent, St. Mark’s Square was an easy walk with lots of restaurants and shops along the way.

    Keep in mind it is a 3 stars hotel, but, with that being said, room was spacious, breakfast is good, the service is amazing, everyone was so nice, and…location, location, location!Noice - yes a bit - but - you are in Venice! With a lot of visitors travelling and walking through the city, so, as expected, deal with it 😎Old - yes - yet modern, and, that was the point, have an older style Venetian hotel!
