  We spent a week here at the hotel and really enjoyed it. The staff was always smiling, warm and welcoming. The cafes nearby were great, as was the location. I’d read a review or two about noise being an issue. This hotel has double or triple pane windows, along with a front door made of the same glass. There are walking corridors all over Venice, so you shouldn’t be surprised if you hear a little something… it’s the charm of being in Italy. We’d definitely stay here again.

  Although this hotel is in a great location and the staff are really lovely this hotel made our stay in Venice rather unpleasant. We were in a twin room which had a plethora of issues. The main being that the air conditioning didn’t work! The room became so hot on the first night that we both woke with dehydration headaches. The second 2 nights we were forced to sleep with the window open. We have never had so many bites in our lives. We look like we have the chicken pox!!! In addition to this the beds were so uncomfortable. The two beds had different mattresses, one of which the springs twanged every time you moved. We had to alternate beds each night so one of us would sleep a bit better. The pillows were awful. Flat as pancakes. We went and requested a second pillow each but this really didn’t make much difference due to how flat and uncomfortable they were. I think I’d have needed at least 4 to make up a normal pillow depth. The bathroom was very small. The shower cubicle was a squeeze to get in and out of and you have to navigate the toilet as you do so. There is no space in front of the toilet so I found myself having to sit from the side and swivel! There is very little space to dress and prepare for the day. The room had no full length mirror which my son was rather perturbed about. It is always nice to be able to check your appearance before you head out after all! On a positive note, as mentioned, the location was great. Right in the centre of things and easy for amenities. Great to pop back for a change of clothes or a little rest. The staff were really friendly and nice and the place was clean. Overall though this place was not worth its cost. I have never been so tired in my life! Or so covered in bite! I would not stay here again. I would opt for somewhere which was a bit further away from the main attractions but was more comfortable. After all it is lovely to just walk around Venice so staying a bit further away just means you see more as you walk about.

  A very friendly hotel in a great location

  We were in Venice for a few days in the lead-up to Easter weekend and stayed in this small, but lovely little hotel not very far from St Mark's Square. As such, it was well situated to visit many key sights and was also close to the waterside by the Doge's Palace for all manner of water transportation being not even five minutes up an alley running up past the back of the Doge's Palace (the prison cells I think!). The staff are super friendly. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The hotel is an ideal base for visitors to return to after a day's sightseeing, to refresh before heading out again for an evening meal. There is a small square around the corner (actually, it is triangular!) which offers a breakfast coffee, a lunchtime snack or an evening meal.We had a lovely time, enhanced by staying in this most comfortable of hotels...
