  Very Disappointing Experience — Would Not RecommendUnfortunately, our stay at Ca’ Bragadin Carabba was a very poor experience, and I would not recommend staying here.First, there is no elevator, which we should have realized before booking, but we had to carry our luggage up three flights of stairs with no assistance whatsoever. This is something travelers with heavy luggage or mobility issues should definitely be aware of.Communication was also extremely difficult because the manager spoke no English. We were told that breakfast was included and that we should go to a pastry shop down the street. We followed those instructions, had breakfast, and then were told by the owner of the pastry shop that they had no relationship or breakfast arrangement with the hotel at all. It was incredibly confusing and uncomfortable.Our room was very basic and did not look like the photos we had seen when booking. The bed was extremely hard, and the shower was tiny and very slippery. There was also what appeared to be a shutter or something outside our window that banged constantly throughout both days of our stay. We complained about the noise but received no response or resolution.We also did not care for the location. The hotel is accessed through a dark, bleak alley, and as two women traveling together, we did not feel particularly comfortable with the surroundings. The property is advertised as being close to St. Mark’s Square, but it did not feel nearly as convenient to St. Mark’s as we expected based on the description.Overall, between the luggage situation, lack of assistance, communication problems, breakfast confusion, constant noise, uncomfortable room, and location, this was easily one of the most disappointing stays of our trip through Italy.We would not stay here again and would strongly recommend choosing another hotel in Venice.

  Lovely big bedroom, very clean with comfy beds and hotel is in good location. Didn’t give it five stars as the bathroom we had was VERY narrow. When you sat in the toilet your knees touched the radiator and there was no space for our toilet bags.

  Spacious, Comfortable, and Great Value in the Heart of Venice

  Ca’ Bragadin Carabba is a great value option in Venice. The room was incredibly large by Venice standards — and even by European standards — and the bathroom was also very spacious, which is a rare find in the city.The hotel itself is a bit outdated, but this does not interfere with the overall comfort or quality of the stay. Everything was clean and functional, and the charm of the building fits well with Venice’s character.The staff were helpful, polite, and always ready to provide directions, recommendations for breakfast, and sightseeing tips, which made getting around much easier.The location is excellent: about a 5-minute walk from the Rialto Bridge and roughly 10 minutes from Piazza San Marco, making it ideal for exploring Venice on foot.Bottom line: a comfortable, well-located, and affordable place offering great value for money.

Their warmth and attentiveness set the tone for a truly memorable visit.The guesthouse itself is steeped in Venetian history—it is famously known as a place where Casanova himself once lived. Every corner reflects a quaint, timeless style, combining comfort with authentic Venetian decor that evokes the charm, elegance, and intrigue of Venice’s storied past. The interiors are spotlessly clean, meticulously maintained, and adorned with classic details and subtle touches of sophistication, perfectly complementing the enchanting canals and streets just outside.The location is ideal, tucked away just enough to feel peaceful, yet close to the heart of Venice’s attractions, making it easy to explore the city without the crowds. Each morning we loved stepping out and immediately immersing ourselves in the local life, knowing we could return to such a serene, historically significant, and immaculately kept retreat.For anyone seeking an authentic Venetian experience with charm, history, and attentive hospitality, and a unique connection to Casanova, Ca’ Bragadin Carabba is simply unbeatable. We cannot recommend it highly enough and look forward to returning.

  Clean, pleasant room in great location

  The lady at reception was very helpful giving us information on how to get around and places to visit. The room was a good size, pleasant and clean. The good location of the hotel enabled us to walk to places we wanted to see like St Marks Square.
