    Awful hotel and nothing like the pictures

    This is, without question, the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. It bears no resemblance whatsoever to the photos advertised online. The entire place smells strongly of damp, with visible mould in the shower, stained and marked walls, and worn-out furniture that is literally falling apart. The hallway carpets are dirty and unkempt.Basic amenities are unacceptable; the fridge doesn’t keep anything cold, and the hand dryer blows cold air. The breakfast offering is extremely poor and underwhelming. The reception area is equally neglected, appearing tired, shabby, and unclean.Our experience was so unpleasant that we made the decision to leave early and find alternative accommodation. I strongly urge others to avoid booking this hotel.

    This hotel did not match any of the images online or indeed the reviews we read. Easy to find from San Marco using Google Maps- 5 min walk. A little alleyway off a street of posh retail shops. Outside hotel was shabby, as was reception. Reception staff ambivalent. Hallway carpets dirty and heavily bleach stained. The room was basic- no cushions, throws etc as seen online. One pillow each plus one spare, which was stained. No curtains- just voiles at the windows. Walls and ceiling marked and lampshades were damaged. I put a bottle of water in the fridge- it came out a few hours later warmer than when I put it in. The hairdryer did not blow out air and fused after 10 seconds. The whole unit was grubby. Shower cubicle has mould spores. Poor fitments in the shower.There was a damp smell at night, which came from the bathroom. Not good for my asthmatic husband. Breakfast area was cramped with furniture. I added milk from a communal jug to my coffee at breakfast and it had curdled. This was the final straw and we upgraded to a better hotel for our final night.

    The hotel is a little hidden with the signage being high on the wall next to an ally you will go down to the entrance. Check-in is smooth although take note hotel tax is a separate charge if you made your reservation via the internet. The room was clean and was attended too daily with fresh towels and bed being made. The rooms were small with little room to open more than one suitcase which can impede walking around the bed. Additionally the bathroom was similar with no shelving or counter space. Also as the hotel is old there is a physical key to enter to room and has quite a large key ring/chain to carry with you when you sight see. Breakfast was adequate although pricey, with us choosing a local cafe.

    Except for one very nice desk clerk, it was lousy. Carpets were dirty, staff was sullen and unhelpful. “Mini-bar” (actually a tiny fridge) heated contents instead of cooled. Three requests to repair/replace were ignored. Room was a tiny closet with a bathroom where the toilet and shower shared the same space. One sheet on the bed with an “extra” blanket that had mysterious spots on it. Shower rack was rusted, towel rack did not heat and was slimy.

    I had a truly wonderful experience at this 3-star hotel. Everything exceeded my expectations!Cleanliness: The entire hotel, from the lobby to the rooms, was spotless. Housekeeping did an amazing job every day.Location: Perfectly located, close to everything I needed, but still in a quiet and peaceful area.Value for Money: Great prices for the quality offered — very affordable without compromising comfort.Staff Professionalism: The staff was friendly, welcoming, and very professional at all times. They really made me feel at home.Security: I felt completely safe during my stay.
