    We were very disappointed indeed. The welcome was cold and impersonal . It has been like this throughout our stay. When we asked for advice the answers were irrelevant or useless. No smile, no attention, we thought we were staying at one star hotel . That was a very big disappointment as our previous stay in Genova was exceptional while in a similar category hotel. The staff who carried our lugage to our room, waited for a tip in an ostensible way ...The lobby is very small and not if the room was well furnished and clean, we found it very small . But again , everything would have been ok if the people at the desk has shown some humanity and professionalism.

    I really appreciated the friendly and familiar atmosphere at Dona Palace. The staff was helpful and kind and I felt at home. The garden was a nice resting place and my room was quiet although the area is busy.

    Just finished a 3 night stay at this fantastic hotel, centrally located to all your needs. Heaps of restaurants, cafes and a couple of supermarkets for general items, water, fruit, wine etc. A big shout out to the breakfast ladies, you were all fantastic. And thanks to Andrea in the garden / courtyard bar for making our drinks every day. You are the best.

    Hidden gem in Venice

    We are accustomed to staying at properties that are part of Small Luxury Hotels of the World and Leading Hotels of the World, so we were admittedly a little nervous about booking a four-star hotel in Venice. Those concerns turned out to be completely unnecessary.Hotel Dona Palace delivered an experience that came surprisingly close to what we have come to expect from many luxury boutique hotels. We were given a wonderful room, the service was excellent throughout our stay, and the staff were consistently friendly and professional.One of our favorite features of the hotel was the beautiful terrace. It was a lovely place to relax after exploring Venice and added greatly to the overall experience.If there is one small suggestion for improvement, it would be to open the bar service on the terrace earlier in the day. It would be wonderful to enjoy a drink there at lunchtime, and we believe offering a light snack menu could also be a great addition and a welcome source of additional revenue for the hotel.Overall, we were extremely pleased with our stay. The location is excellent, the atmosphere is elegant and relaxing, and the service exceeded our expectations. We would not hesitate to stay here again on a future visit to Venice

    Staff make you feel special

    Just returned from a stay and we felt we chose the right hotel for us. From the moment we arrived the staff helped us take our luggage and ourselves off the water taxi and onto the lovely terrace. Throughout the stay very attentive. The one very minor problem we had with housekeeping which to us was no big deal, they sincerely apologised for and rectified without fuss.As there were three of us we had the suite which was super spacious. The rooms are in character with Venice so don't expect a super modern room if that's your expectations. The hotel is full of charm and character and the room we felt represented Venice well. Beautiful views of the canal and bridge opposite. Breakfast is a great selection of different things. However again the staff amazing, friendly and the breakfast room is beautiful with a further small terrace.Genuinely sad to leave, if we return to Venice we would not hesitate to return to this wonderful, personal hotel.Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so memorable.
