    Hotel stay with one drawback

    We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Fontana. The rooms were nice, clean, and comfortable, and although we didn’t spend much time in them because we were out sightseeing and touring Venice, they were perfect for what we needed.The only downside was the day manager, Gabriele. He didn’t seem very amenable or willing to offer suggestions, and at times made us feel as though asking questions was a bother. Aside from that interaction, everything else about the hotel was good and met our expectations.Overall, a solid stay in a great location.

    Excellent stay at this lovely hotel. Pro’s: Excellent service and staff. Very friendly and attentive. Helpful with suggestions and explaining transportation to us. This hotel offered things important to us - elevator, private bathroom/shower, wifi, free breakfast, very clean rooms. It was also a good location. 2 min walk to Water bus, 5 min walk to St Marks, 15 min to Rialto area, 30 min walk to Jewish Ghetto. Con’s: we found only one minor con. When we arrived the room was very heavily scented with some plug in room freshener (bad for allergies). We simply put it in a drawer, opened all the windows and shutters and aired the room out. I would definitely stay here again.

    I was a little skeptical when I saw the outside of the hotel, but entering the hotel, we were greeted by Geraldo who was so helpful in getting us situated. Throughout our stay, not only Geraldo, but Diego and Frederico assisted us with so many answers to our many questions and never hesitated to make us a happy and satisfied guest. During this time, they suggested a few restaurants, assured us after my husband got pickpocketed, acknowledged my husband's 80th birthday, and helped us navigate the Venice waterways. Don't wait to make a reservation; the hotel is very popular for a small family-owned business and you should not hesitate to book at this hotel when visiting Venice. It is within walking distance of so many wonderful sites. We had so much fun in Venice thanks to this wonderful staff.

    A gem of a hotel!

    What a gem! Location is fantastic. Easy find from the Vaporetto. Rooms were generous, clean and serviced daily. Breakfast was delicious each day. Staff (all family) was immensely knowledgeable and helpful regarding food recommendations, attractions and travel. Thank you for a lovely stay.

    Hotel Fontana was perfect for my husband and I. Terrific location close to ferries and key attractions. Small family owned and perfect spot at a good price. Clean, comfortable, and just as advertised.
