One of the best hotels in the world

This is a classic . The facilities, location and wonderful breakfast. Above all the attitude of the staff..Adelina managing reception was a great ambassador from the start. And the entire team , housekeeping ,night porter and the manager who checked us out the following morning were top class. The service was flawless and kind. Good advice was given and everything was calm and understated. But at the heart there is a welcome.The facilities of the hotel are magnificent and a drink on the balcony is worth a visit to Venice on its own . The location speaks for itself but the real jewels in Foscari are the staff.

Front desk Staff: dismissive to the point of being rude. Could not even be bothered to stop chatting on her mobile. Breakfast: uht juice, instant coffee. Nice fresh fruit salad. Will be going out for breakfast for the rest of our stay.Room: unstocked mini bar, pathetic shower, carpets loose and patchy in places, Aircon old and ineffective. We will use the fridge to chill our daily water.Roof terrace: needs a good scrub, tiny. Nice view. Went up once. Will not bother again.Location: its only selling pointWebsite says recently refurbished. I suppose recent is a relative term considering the age of the planet! A totally disappointing and uninspiring hotel. There is no way this is a 4* hotel. Even 3* would be pushing it. Not worth the money.

After booking this hotel almost a year ago I was shocked to see some really awful reviews a short time afterwards. My wife and I were nervous about the booking but needn't have worried. The staff, facilities and food were great along with the location. I wouldn't have missed this for the world!!

Good Hotel NASTY MANAGER all other staff very nice

We were moved to this hotel at short notice and stayed 2 nights as our hotel we had booked had plumbing issues, the hotel is fine and if had booked and paid the going rate would have been pleased (it would have been less expensive than our booked Hotel)we did not know if ours was going to be available so went to talk about this with the manager .I have never met such a rude and unhelpful person in your industry he should not work in the trade if that's what he thinks of his guests? We are glad we were able to return to our booked hotel and had a great stay and will return and was well looked after by their Manager a credit to the trade.

The location is within easy walking distance or water taxi from the train station and located on the Grand Canal. It is also easy walking distance to Rialto bridge and a bit farther to SAN Marco. The view over the Grand Canal is amazing. There is also an incredible view from the roof top terrace though they no longer seem to serve drinks up there. We did take a glass of wine to drink while overlooking the city at sunset. There is also a gondola ride steps from the entrance. Food prices toward Rialto are much higher than toward the train station and the quality is better toward the train.
