  Pretty hotel with a Vaporetto stop close by

  The hotel was quite charming and the location was good. There is a vaporetto stop very close by so it was easy to take public transport to the airport. We had a basic room which could be best described as bijou. The room was pretty, especially the lampshade. The air conditioning worked well, the beds were comfortable. We had asked for twin beds, but they were separated only by a couple of centimetres because of the size of the room.The room was clean and the towels were changed without asking.The bathroom was small but it was ok and had a good shower. There wasn’t any shampoo or hair conditioner, just a hair & body wash.The breakfast was good and had lovely fresh fruit as well. We also got breakfast to go because we had to check out early the second day. That breakfast was very basic. We also asked the night porter if we could eat the take out breakfast in the lobby before leaving but he said we couldn’t do that which I thought was strange. All in all, the hotel met our needs.   A great stay

  We booked this hotel based on other reviews and weren't disappointed. Location is excellent with St Marks Square, Accademia Bridge and the Giglio Vaporetto stop all being a short walk. We stayed in room 240 which was a superior double, above the main entrance overlooking the church. It was small but perfectly functional and comfortable for us. All the staff that we met were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with lots of choice. We thought the price of drinks from the bar was good value. The hotel smelt lovely as well!The hotel arranged a private car and water taxi to collect us from the airport, which wasn't cheap, but we felt was a fantastic way to start our holiday. We used Vaporetto number 1 on departure to get to the railway station.   Location is perfect hotel is spotless with wonderful caring staff, very modern bathroom , lots of choice for breakfast, we got a welcome drink which we had in a beautiful alcove watching the gondola’s go by

  Quant Hotel. Venetian feel. Breakfast is great. Rooms cozy with great canal view. Bathrooms clean and modern. Staff friendly. Great restaurant recommendations.

  Wow, what a view from the room!

  I walked from Santa Lucia train station which took about 30 minutes, including a short traghetto gondola ride. This was with a small backpack in February so doing it in the height of summer with crowds, heat and stairs over the bridges would be very different. The hotel is situated in a lovely piazza and a 1 minute walk from the Grand Canal and a water bus stop. It’s less than 5 minutes from St Mark’s Square, passing lots of designer shops on the way.My single room was very small and very old-fashioned with old/faded damask curtains, bedspread and wallpaper. (Unfortunately this meant it didn’t feel super clean). To get in the shower, I had to manoeuvre round the toilet. However, the window looked out over Santa Maria del Giglio church: an architectural marvel with its white columns and marble statues. I slept with the curtains open so I could see it at night whilst laying in bed. There is a Tabacchi very close by, handy for drinks and snacks. Breakfast was amazing with the sort of food I’d be happy to eat for a buffet lunch. Drinks are brought your table by the waiters and are served in silver jugs. All in all, a very good stay. €3.50 pppn tourist tax.
