  ReceptionVery good. Friendly. Helpful.RoomOlder Venetian type. Very good bed & shower/bathroom. Quite dark. Poor heating/air conditioning control. With heating on its far too hot but then cold when you get out of the shower. Air conditioning unavailable until April. Room was in the corridor they use for breakfast so a bit of noise at 6AM when they were setting up. Room looked out onto a very small courtyard. Was noisy. Could hear people from opposite room. There is plenty of storage & space. The safe operated by a key - did not feel very safe to us. Would not want to stay in this room again.BreakfastAverage but adequate. Staff not very friendly. On 1st morning there was a man who did talk & offer coffee etc. However, on both other mornings he was not there & the two women did not greet ue or talk to us unless we spoke to them. They did not offer coffee etc. Made you feel a bit uncomfortable. Plus, some tables are far to close to each other.LoungeExcellent areas around the hotel to sit around.LocationFantastic location. A few mins to main tourist areas. Plenty of shops nearby.   How hospitality should be done,From a warm welcome from Hans , Well maintained Hotel, clean and not far from anything you wish to visit.   BEAUTIFUL HOTEL WITH WONDERFUL STAFF

  Beautiful walk from the nearest vaporetto stop (s. Zaccaria) down some beautiful alleys and bridges. Over the last bridge was the hotel. It took about 5 minutes and was easy to find and in a peaceful setting. The hotel itself was beautiful and very well maintained and the staff that checked us in was friendly and showed us to our room through a lovely landing area. Our room was typically Venetian and had enough space for our needs. Very clean. The only problem we had in our room was the water in our shower went between scalding hot to cold in seconds, but we had a bath with no plug. No problem we improvised with an upturned glass. This didn’t impact our stay at this gorgeous hotel. Breakfast had lots of choice, cereal, yoghurt, breads and meat, bacon and scrambled egg and fruit etc. There are a couple of outdoor areas at the hotel, one off the breakfast area and one at the back of the hotel which were lovely to sit out in. We found the walk to San Marco square to be about five minutes, the bridge of sighs a few minutes and Rialto Bridge around 10/15 mins so the hotel is well placed to everywhere you would want to visit. And with the vaporetto stop 5 mins away it is so easy to visit anywhere like Murano, Lido etc All the staff we encountered were warm and friendly and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel and will return ourselves , Owner at Hotel Casa Verardo Residenza d'Epoca, responded to this review Dear Steviefox69,Thank you most sincerely for sharing such a thoughtful and generous review of your recent stay at Hotel Casa Verardo.
