  “Lovely Christmas stay at the Casanova”this is a beautiful small boutique hotel ,the location is amazing,it is next door to piazza san marco , the staff are lovely ,all the ladies fosca with the beautiful black hair & the other 2 ladies in reception are so nice helpful & friendly & remembered me which was a nice touch , & the male staff are friendly helpful welcoming & helpful,Luca & the other gentleman , & the night Porter where very friendly & helpful with my wheelchair,as iam a disabled female in a motorized wheelchair, they were amazing , any problems were quickly sorted,there is a side fire entrance that your wheelchair can fit through,my motorized wheelchair had to be folded to fit into the lift but the staff were there to help me, also the breakfast staff were lovely & helpful ,moving chairs to fit my wheelchair at the breakfast table & bringing my food to me & being friendly & chatting, the disabled accessible rooms are excellent, lovely Venetian decor fabric flocked walls beautiful chandeliers,accessible bathroom with wheelchair accessible shower ,a seat & low toilet with hand rails ,, I have been staying at this hotel for 3 years , I have stayed at the big luxury hotels next door & double the price ,the “Monaco & grand canal, “the Gritti palace “on the grand canal & “the luna baglioni “ on the next street , but if you can’t do the big money hotels ,then the Casanova is excellent ,if you want a real Venetian experience the Casanova is it,to all staff “Grazie Millie con tango amore Angelina x”

  While we were dropping off our luggage , while we were walking around the city, someone stole things from our suitcase. We only noticed it when we got home. The hotel doesn't respond to emails at all. Never again.

  Three nights in Venice

  Positive aspects. Hotel location is excellent, just two minutes walking from Piazza San Marco & San Marco Basilica. Staff were helpful. Room was large. Free wi-fi worked very well. Breakfast was just good.Negative aspects: My room was decorated in a very kitschy style, in gold and purple, with dated furniture. The room was near the elevator: elevator noise was constant, day and night, making it difficult to get a good rest. There was a musty smell in my room. Hotel is definitely below the 4-star classification: no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, only a microscopic soap bar provided in the bathroom. They only redo the beds and clean the bathroom, the floor was not cleaned for the entire duration of my stay. There was no luggage rack in my room so I asked for one: what they could provide was only an additional chair.

  Last minute booking when our flight was cancelled and we needed to find somewhere fast. Very centrally located small hotel tucked away right in the middle of the designer shopping area. Rooms are Venice themed with brocade headboards and marble bathrooms. The hotel was last refurbished 15 years ago so it is dated but doesn’t look worn and is very clean. We accidentally booked our rooms twice as we booked when we were in the airport at Pisa, thought the first booking hadn’t gone through due to poor connection on the wifi so booked again. We the had booked four rooms when we only needed two. So immediately called the hotel who refused to cancel the extra two rooms. We’d got a deal and were in a panic so didn’t have any energy to argue. It was our fault, the hotel could have cancelled it as a goodwill gesture but chose not to. They told us when we arrived we could have a suite as one of the rooms. We agreed thinking it would be better than the three other rooms we’d already looked at! This “suite” turned out to be exactly the same as the other standard rooms. Maybe a slightly larger bathroom? Not a suite anyway as there was no sitting area whatsoever and very tricky to get to on the fifth floor as the last floor can only be reached by steep stairs which wasn’t easy carrying a heavy case. So bear that in mind. The suites are not suites! Breakfast is not great. Staff were nice though and were pretty surprised and displeased when we told them the story of the extra two rooms that no one had slept in! Hot food was scrambled egg, bacon and some vegetable mix that was not very warm. Hardly any fruit or yoghurt options but nice homemade cakes and self serve coffee machine that was pretty good. Overall a fairly comfortable stay in a clean hotel but the feeling of being ripped off wasn’t very nice. Wouldn’t stay again for that reason.
