  Annex rooms to this hotel - meh.

  I was not particularly impressed with this hotel, it was a disappointment compared to the others in Italy we had come from. We stayed in a family room in the annex and I guess those rooms don't get much love. Room was bland, no character, strange mix of furniture, the two rooms separated by a really long hallway, no view, the bathtub is deep and a little tricky getting in and out of, nowhere to grab or hang onto. Two floor walkup and they didnt have a bell person to help us the morning we left. The breakfast was mediocre - presentation looked promising so we said yes, but the food wasn't very good. Pancakes cold, eggs tasted like powder. But everyone that works there is wonderful, service was great in arranging a taxi for us. Maybe the rooms in the main hotel are the highly rated ones (but again would think twice about the breakfast). Location was good, walking distance - like 3 minutes - to Saint Marks. The photographs displayed during the booking process illustrate the Family Room category selected, including its particular style and configuration. Nevertheless, we regret that the room did not reflect the character you had expected and that its layout was not suitable for your preferences.We are equally sorry that you did not receive assistance with your luggage when you departed. Had you contacted our reception team, our colleagues would have been pleased to arrange for someone to assist you.Your observations concerning the breakfast, particularly the temperature of the pancakes and the quality of the eggs, have been shared with the relevant department for review.   What a amazing hotel in the centre of everywhere you need to go.   Excellent location we were able to walk everywhere and saw so many of the sites. The staff were absolutely impeccable so helpful with where to go to get the vaporetto the water buses where to go to see the sites where to go to eat. Tomasso was very helpful with restaurant ideas and Terry Lynn was just wonderful. My Daughter wanted breakfast but didn’t want to wake up to have it so she very kindly did us a try to take up to her and nothing was too much trouble. We had the most fabulous stay. The room itself was period style and we had a family room. the beds were comfortable. My Daughter‘s bed was a huge chaise long and she loved her bed. It was just wonderful. Can’t rate this hotel highly enough the staff made it honestly they were just brilliant so thank you. Will definitely stay there again and I would say if you’re going to Venice - this is a place to stay. It’s walking distance to everywhere and the views out the window were just beautiful !All in all a fabulous stay was had by us all ??
