    Lovely pre-Christmas trip to Venice

    rating06 Jan 2026

We really loved our stay at Hotel dell'Opera. Great location next to the wonderful historic opera theatre, near to St Marks and in easy walking distance of so many interesting and beautiful places. Our room was clean and comfortable with a balcony over a canal and gondolas passing by, breakfasts were plentiful with lots of fresh breads, pastries meats and cheeses plus preserves, cereals, yoghurts and juices and a decent coffee machine as well as freshly cooked eggs to order. The roof top honesty bar is small but well stocked with comfy seats and great roof top views. The staff (reception, catering, cleaners) were all wonderful - very welcoming, friendly, efficient and helpful. Fully recommend. Chiara Trevisan, Proprietario at Hotel dell'Opera, responded to this review Dear Guest, thank you very much for your kind words and for the preference accorded to our hotel. Best regards

    Fantastic stay

    rating31 May 2025

Me and my daughter have just had the most amazing stay at this hotel. The location is fabulous and very short walk to st marks academia and rialto. The hotel is spotless clean and staff are very friendly. This hotel is not a 3 star it should be a 4. The amneties included are shampoo and gel in 1 for shower and Hand-wash. Towels arw changed daily upon request.this hotel has everything you need to be comfortable. I had an amazing sleep as beds are comfortable. There is tea and coffee outside of room. I could not fault this hotel it is a gem in the centre I doubt you would get better value for money anywhere else in venice. Exceeded expectations

    rating23 May 2025

I booked this hotel for a 3 night stay in May 2025. We only needed a place to sleep and wouldn’t have paid the prices for 4 or 5 star hotels in Venice as we’d be on the go most of the time. Location - perfect central location. We took the water taxi from the airport to San Marco station, it was an 8 minute walk to the hotel and that was with carrying luggage. A short walk to the Rialto Bridge, with plenty of bars, shops and restaurants nearby. Facilities - fairly minimal. We didn’t take breakfast in the hotel so can’t comment on food. The rooftop terrace is lovely, operating an honesty bar service which was lovely but a nice little seating area with great views. A nice break from the hustle and bustle of the city streets. Room - it was fine! Read a lot of reviews complaining about the rooms and maybe it comes down to expectations but the room was fine for us. A safe and fridge were available, and I liked that they were in a wardrobe that locked with a key which we could take out with us, giving a little extra security. It was clean and spacious and the bathroom was nice. I had paid extra for canal view room and it didn’t disappoint, it is a small and quiet canal but still lots of activity with gondolas passing by regularly. The staff were welcoming on arrival and friendly throughout our stay. If you’re looking for luxury then this maybe isn’t the hotel for you, but if you are looking for a nice, clean place to rest at night then I’d highly recommend. Friendly staff, nice location, mediocre room

    rating23 May 2025

Quaint hotel on a canal which was convenient in transporting our group with our luggage back to the train station area. Additionally, the hotel is centrally and conveniently located. All of the staff were friendly, helpful and eager to please. Our room was mediocre. My main complaint was not having an outlet near the bed to charge phones etc. We had to use an outlet near the floor in the corner. Breakfast was great and included made to order eggs, tasty pastries, and great coffee. I paid $771 for two nights in May 2025. I found this a bit high, but all of Venice is more expensive than I expected.
