    Hotel principe not 4 star

    rating24 May 2026

The standard rooms in this hotel is well below 4 star. The showers leaked and had no pressure. The sink didn't drain correctly. No tea coffee facilities and no iron etc. There was a hot water earn on floor 1 which they never told us about but we found by accident. The breakfasts were ok but nothing special. Housekeeping very noisy at 7am and staff not really friendly tbh. The deluxe rooms may be better but the balconies were to small to sit on. Minibar didn't work and by accident we initially went into the hotel next door (contintntal) who's staff were much more friendly and pointed us into the right direction. Wished we stayed there as they have better reviews.

Nothing like the photos. Very disappointing.

We were both really excited to stay at this hotel, as the photos on the website made it look beautiful. However, the reality was very different. The standard room tgat we booked was tiny, and located at the back of the hotel. The view from our window was the closely adjacent seemingly derelict building, overlooking the rubbish bins and recycling. We were often woken early by the clink of bottles as the recycling was emptied. The room was clean, but there was no space to really unpack anything, so we spent 5 days living out of our suitcase, which we had to put under the bed. The bathroom as extremely small, and we could only shower by holding the showerhead. The only saving grace was that the room was clean. We only ate breakfast one day in the hotel. The buffet offering was extremely meagre, and poor quality. Coffee/tea was out of a machine, as was the fruit squash. Both tasted vile. Instead, we opted each day to buy our breakfast at the train station, which seems to be the only place that doesn't rip off tourists. We found the reception staff quite dismissive, but the consierge was lovely. Overall an extremely underwhelming experience, which really spoilt our trip.

    Thank you

Very good location with lovely views of the Grand Canal at breakfast. Warm, efficient atmosphere and our classic room was quiet and adequate for our 3 night stay. Room and hotel extremely clean, including the public spaces. Noise level acceptable even on the evenings of private celebrations. Service was efficient and friendly throughout the hotel. Only two additions I would add to the hotel’s customer ‘fact sheet’ would be to advertise more the need to register for exemption of the Visitor’s Daily Charge and the availability of hot water and ice on the first floor, which we only discovered on the penultimate day. Thank you for a lovely stay!

    Wondeful Venice

    rating20 Apr 2026

I cant believe I'm only just writing this review.. Its called life and how busy we all are!We arrived here last May and the location was perfect for me and my friend-our hotel was on the Grand Canal. The hotel was lovely. We loved having our breakfast (which was delicious) in the dining room overlooking the Grand Canal. It was bliss. The buffet breakfast was really good and fresh. The coffee was lovely too.We were slightly disappointed with our room as it only had velux windows so we couldn't see out unless we tiptoed, but this did not put us off as how much time do you really spend in your room! There's lots more rooms which look wonderful some quite luxurious which I would like to stay in if we were lucky to go againThe bar staff were also very friendly and accommodatingThe 4 days we were there flew by and we will be going againThe hotels location was perfect for us and we definatley got our steps in.They say in get lost in Venice and believe me we did but in a good way. Please go on a Gondola Please go and visit St Marks Square where there's lot to do including Saint Marks Basilicia and Doges Palace. Whilst in St Marks Square please try the oldest cafe-Cafe Florian-which is such a treat and the atomsphere from the square-oozesI also recommend Ristorante Sempione if you are looking for a lovely meal. The location is supberb. They don't do a booking system so its first come first served and we were lucky to get a table with a view over the canal. The food was delicious and also the wine Lugana-I wish I had taken a picture of itWe loved ending our day back at the hotel finishing off with a couple of drinks sat outside. There's so much to see and do near this lovely hotel-Thank you for making our stay memorable
