  Just what was needed

  Although we stayed in the Anex building (in the anex itself) the staff were super helpful and welcoming. The room itself was as you may expect in Venice, on the smaller side but it was a perfect location to explore from, just be warned if you book the (cheaper) anex room it is up 3 flights of stairs and the final set you may have to duck/crouch up and down them.

  A Charming Venetian Stay with Warm Touches but a Few Practical Challenges

  My wife and I stayed at Hotel San Luca in Venice for three nights in mid-September and overall had a pleasant experience, with a few moments that stood out for both good and not-so-good reasons.The hotel has typical Venetian-style rooms, full of character and charm. Our room was cozy, nicely decorated, and felt fitting for the historic surroundings. One of the highlights of our stay was the 24×7 complimentary hot drinks and cookies—a thoughtful and genuinely enjoyable touch. After long days of exploring Venice, being able to return for a warm drink at any hour made the hotel feel extra welcoming.However, the stay wasn’t without its frustrations. Breakfast service was extremely slow, and even after bringing this to the manager’s attention, nothing seemed to improve. It was disappointing because the hotel otherwise showed signs of good hospitality.Another practical challenge came with the luggage. The hotel does not have an elevator, and while a porter was available during check-in to haul our bags up to the first floor, no porter was present at checkout, leaving us to manage the heavy luggage ourselves—a difficult task on the steep stairs. For a city like Venice, where luggage handling is already a challenge, this inconsistency was noticeable.Despite these issues, our overall stay at Hotel San Luca was pleasant and memorable, thanks to the charm of the rooms and the thoughtful 24×7 refreshment setup. With a bit more attention to breakfast service and consistent porter support, it could easily elevate the guest experience even further.

  I began to question my experience when I saw the shoe footprint on the wall with dead bug in the middle. Further into the room we found many more squashed bug remains on 2 more walls. The hair dryer was broken, there was no tissue receptacle in the bathroom,, the shower fan was hanging from the ceiling. When we prepared for sleep, the window screen was torn apart so we had to close the window which made the room very hot and sticky. We were apparently in the annex building so we had to go down the street and around the corner to the main hotel for breakfast. Our sister was in a room above ours and in early morning their room ceiling began pouring water into their suitcase. But that is her story to tell. The room did not meet our expectations or standards and needless to say it was not what we expected.

  Excellent Hotel with Great Location

  We had the best stay at Hotel San Luca. We are a family of 5 with 3 adult children. We stayed in the Premiere apartment and it had plenty of room for all of us. It was very clean, beds comfortable, and perfect location. If was so close to San Marco square and all the sights. Plenty of restaurants close by. I would definitely stay here again.
