  2nd Visit charming hotel

  2nd time of visiting this hotel . Last year the original hotel we booked was changed a few weeks before by jet 2 to this one. We loved the hotel that much we booked it for this year . Its ideally located towards the vaporetto stops and all shops restaurants. The rooms are spotless. Air conditioning excellent. What really makes this hotel unique is the friendly staff everywhere . During our stay unfortunately our battery charger broke. We asked the girl on reception would she charge our phone. She came back with a smile and lent us one for the rest of our stay. Breakfast was lovely sat out by the canal fresh rolls cheese yoghurts eggs boiled and scrambled and beautiful pastries. We have stayed in various places in venice over the 10 years we have been coming and this for us is the best. So good we have already booked for next year.   Fantastic hotel.

  My son and I had a wonderful stay at this gorgeous hotel. We stayed in room 201 , a large room with a single and double bed with a stunning canal view. Check in was smooth and the lady was very friendly and nice. The room was modern and spotlessly clean with a large bathroom. The air con was very welcome and the WiFi was fast. The hotel is in a beautiful quieter area , 8 minute stroll to the Rialto bridge and another 8 minute stroll to St marks square. Breakfast was standard continental with croissants, toast , cereal , toast , meats , eggs , yogurts , juice and a wonderful coffee machine.   Disappointing handling of our room.

  When we arrived at Hotel Tintoretto, the receptionist asked to see our booking confirmation, which clearly stated that we had booked a Superior Double Room. After some discussion in Italian between the receptionist and her colleague, involving paperwork being passed back and forth, they asked to see the confirmation again and took a photograph of it.We were then shown to our room, which was clearly not the superior room we had booked. I returned to reception to query this and was told that, if we wanted a superior room, we would need to pay the difference, despite having already shown confirmation that this was the room we had paid for.I contacted our holiday provider, Loveholidays, who looked into the issue. It appeared that the hotel only had us recorded as having booked a standard room. The receptionist then showed me another room, which looked much the same as ours, and asked for an additional €45 per night. We declined, as we had already paid for the superior room and were not prepared to pay twice.As we were only staying for four days, we decided it was not worth spending more of our holiday arguing about it. Once we returned home to England, I followed the matter up with Loveholidays, who have since refunded the difference.Overall, I thought the hotel handled the situation very poorly. Asking guests to pay more for something they already have written confirmation of having purchased is unacceptable.The breakfast selection was also very limited and disappointing, and after the first morning we chose to eat elsewhere for the remainder of our stay. gabriella rossi, Proprietario at Hotel Tintoretto, responded to this review Dear Guest,We are sorry for the inconvenience you experienced, but we would like to clarify that the issue described was not the responsibility of Hotel Tintoretto.We assigned the room category exactly as it appeared on the reservation received from your travel agency. In our system, your booking was for a Standard Double Room, not a Superior Double Room. Therefore, you did not pay the hotel for a Superior Room.If the confirmation you received from your travel agency stated that you had booked a Superior Room, this was an error on their part, as demonstrated by the fact that they refunded you the price difference after your return. Any additional cost for an upgrade should therefore have been covered by the agency, not by the hotel.For this reason, we believe it is unfair to hold Hotel Tintoretto responsible. We simply honored the reservation we received and cannot allocate a higher room category unless it has actually been booked and paid for through the reservation sent to us.This is also why we believe that a negative review of the hotel is not justified in this case. The problem arose solely because of an error made by the booking intermediary, not by our staff. We are always happy to assist our guests, but we cannot be held responsible for incorrect information provided by a third party.We are also sorry that our breakfast did not meet your expectations. Every morning we offer a buffet with both sweet and savory options, designed to satisfy the needs of most of our guests. While we always strive to provide the best possible service, we would also like to point out that we are a three-star hotel, and our breakfast offering is consistent with the standards of our category.Kind regards,Hotel Tintoretto

  Wonderful stay

  Fantastic experience. My first time staying anywhere less than 4 stars. We arrived after midnight and had a warm welcome from staff. He showed us up the stairs to a cosy room and gave us a quick tour and explained everything. It’s basic but spotlessly clean, with everything you need. Air conditioning in the room was great, which was a god send as it was very humid. The location is great. Close to everything and quiet, Lovey view outside our window of the canal. Not a spec of dust. Room smelled fresh, bedding was crisp, towels were fluffy and fresh. I dropped my charger under the bed and not a spec of dust in sight. I suffer with dust allergies so appreciated how clean it all was. Not tried the breakfast as we slept past 11 as it’s so peaceful. I’ve not slept this late in years.   Nice basic hotel in a great location.

  This is a basic, no frills hotel in an excellent location. Its very clean, the aircon was good and the bathroom was super clean with lots of fresh towels. Personally I wasn't coming to Venice for a hotel experience so I found the Tintoretto adequate for what I wanted. The best part is the location, Cannaregio is vibrant and lively but much less touristy than other parts of Venice. The hotel is located between 2 vaporetto stops which was handy. The hotel is also a 20 min walk from the bus station if your luggage is light.
