Murano has spent the better part of a millennium perfecting glass, and this hotel wears that heritage rather than gesturing at it. Set inside a former glass furnace, it's the first property of its kind on the island, with hand-blown Venini lamps, Barbini mirrors and locally crafted textures running through all 119 rooms, including 31 duplex suites. The best of them look straight onto the Canal Grande di Murano, and a permanent exhibition of island artists' work threads through the public spaces, so the craft never really lets up.Dining follows the same instinct: Osteriva serves Venetian dishes inside a light-filled bioclimatic greenhouse, Rivalonga Bar keeps things going waterside, and Spritz & Fitz handles cocktails. A small wellness area with sauna and hammam, a fitness room, and a concierge team on hand for local recommendations round things out, all in a setting quieter and more considered than central Venice.

Venice experience, without the Venice crowds

If you're looking for a hotel that'll give you that 'genuine Venice' experience, yet also a peaceful break from the crowds, look no further. Our check in welcome was both warm and efficient, with acknowledgment of my Globalist status and preferences - not always a given! As others have said, this is a stylish and graceful property, with well designed comfortable and quiet rooms/ bathrooms. It was a treat to step out early or late in the day to empty sidewalks and sunrise/set, yet have Venice itself so easily accessible. We used the shuttle service to/from the airport and found it excellent (and great value), with great hotel responsiveness/ adjustment to our six hour arrival flight delay.A special shout out to the breakfast staff, who really hustled - cheerfully - to keep the buffet well-stocked, coffee provided, tables cleaned...some mornings it was pretty busy but they did a super job!Similarly, our shuttle boat captain was outstanding, in fact a highlight of our stay, with the conversations we enjoyed both arriving and leaving.Of note for some, the fitness centre is a bit 'strange' - great equipment but spread over two fairly cramped floors - works fine if you're the only one or two there (you sign up at the front desk) but could get awkward otherwise.We did have one (uncharacteristic) service issue, when requesting ice. The bar ice machine had broken, and the hotel's initial suggestion was that we 'go buy some' at the local grocery store. Seemed a strange response, and in the end ice was provided from the restaurant. That quirk aside, it was a lovely stay and I'd happily return.

Love staying at the Hyatt Centric Murano. Having recently opened, I was delighted to find this gem of a hotel where I make it a point to always stay every two years I visit to take part in the Venice Biennale. The property is exceptional and allows for both tranquil peace from the usual frenetic business of Venice while also allowing for easy access to all the area has to offer (Venice proper, Burano, Lido, etc) which makes for a relaxing and extremely professional and helpful stay to allow me to focus on my limited time while visiting. Arrival to airport and transfer to and from the hotel is always extremely efficient allowing me to 'hit the ground running' with a packed 2.5 useable days to see quite a lot of the offerings of the Biennale. ACTV service (water routes) are available just outside the front door allowing me to reach any part of Venice and surrounding environs within minutes.Staff at the property are extremely helpful, accommodating and professional which make any needs easy to resolve. The hotel is wonderfully designed with all of the necessary amenities and perhaps the best breakfast available from my travels.A must stay for frequent travelers who value time and efficiency!
