  Room for some small improvements

  We feel a little mean mentioning the points that need addressing considering the wonderful location,perfect check in /outComfortable bed ect ect but a toilet that doesn’t flush and a shower that stops when your half way though do need addressing as these are basic requirements. But strangely I would return.

  Nice place in a charming city

  Location is in the main tourist area between Piazza San Marco and Ponte Rialto. Locanda is in a narrow street that is not the main pass through for tourists, so in that regard is quieter than streets around it. If you are not supper sensible to noise when you are sleeping, you will be ok. But note the hotel is in front of the back side of a restaurant where the kitchen is located, so it can be a bit noisy until around 11 pm. I slept well, no problem, bed is comfortable and room has what you need if you are going to be out in the city during the day. The only warning is that the shower is small, so take it into consideration if that is an issue for you (it was not a problem for me). We did not had breakfast there, so I cannot provide an opinion about that. Our host Luca was very helpful giving us tips about places to eat. He also helped us to find a private water taxi to get to the airport for our early flight. Just in case you have never been in Venezia, note no cars circulate there, everything is on foot or using the vaporetto (public water bus), gondolas or private water taxis.

  Charming hotel

  What a gem of a hotel, amazing location inbetween Rialto and San Marco Square. Accessing it down a small alleyway added to its charm with a small canal at the end and the gondolas passing by. The hotel itself is just beautiful. Traditional and charming and we couldn’t have enjoyed our stay more. Good value for money too. Great stay and would 100% reccomend

  We booked our stay at Locando ai Bareteri due to it's location within Venice i.e. close to both Piazza San Marco and the Rialto Bridge, and competitive price it offered.We were not disappointed at all with our choice. We had two separate communications in the weeks leading up to our holiday, (queries about the hotel, made through the Expedia webpage), and on both occasions received responses from both Luca and Marco answering each of our queries. This in itself gave us a good feeling about Locando ai Bareteri before we had even arrived.The hotel itself was easy to get to, approximately 3 minutes on foot from the Alilaguna Vaporetto (water bus) stop at Rialto Bridge (which had been advised by hotel in the weeks previous), and we were given a very warm welcome by Luca on our arrival. Luca also took the time to provide further advise to us on our stay in Venice before taking us to our room.Our room was lovely, and importantly very clean. It had a very large king size bed (which was very comfortable), as well as sofa and fridge. The bathroom had shower, bidet and sink.The only thing that the bedroom did not have, which we typically enjoy, was a kettle for making coffee/tea, but given we were 2 minutes walk from numerous restaurants and cafes, this was much less inconvenient than what it may have been elsewhere.It is worth mentioning that while breakfast was on offer to us at Locando ai Bareteri (even being delivered to our room), we had decided we wanted to have breakfast in some of the numerous cafes close by as part of our Venice experience.We can definitely recommend Locando ai Bareteri very highly to future visitors to Venice. Location is absolutely ideal (quiet street directly off Rialto/Piazza San Marco walking route), along with friendliness of all the staff and cleanliness of hotel itself being it's greatest selling points.
