Not the luxurious spacious place we expected

    rating20 Jan 2026

Paid over £600 for our room for two nights as we wanted a balcony and a view. The room was TINY so was the bathroom. No wardrobe. No drawers. No storage at all. The radiator in the bathroom was not working on our first day. We reported it three times and it never got fixed so we had to shower in an icy cold bathroom. Not good Hotel management, Direttore generale at Hotel Marconi, responded to this review Dear Guest, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback again. As we can see, you have posted the same review on multiple platforms, and for the sake of clarity and transparency, we would like to provide a consistent response everywhere. We are pleased that you appreciated the location and the view, which are indeed among the main strengths of our hotel. As previously mentioned, the Hotel Marconi is housed in a historic Venetian building that is several centuries old. For this reason, room and bathroom sizes reflect the original architecture of Venice, where space is naturally more limited compared to modern buildings. Our Deluxe rooms are designed to highlight features such as the view and the balcony, rather than large square footage, as clearly indicated in the room description.Regarding storage, we would like to reiterate that all our rooms are equipped with a wardrobe or dedicated space for clothing. This is a standard feature of our rooms, which is why your comment on this point does not reflect our usual standards or guest experience. We sincerely apologize once again for the inconvenience related to the bathroom radiator. According to our internal records, the issue was resolved as soon as our technical staff was properly informed. That said, we fully acknowledge that the discomfort you experienced should not be underestimated, and we are sorry for that. We are reviewing our internal communication procedures to ensure faster handling of similar situations in the future. We respect every guest’s right to share their experience and appreciate feedback when it is constructive. We hope that, should you decide to return to Venice, you might consider giving us another opportunity to offer you a stay more in line with your expectations.Kind regards,Hotel Marconi – Venice

    Amazing Pure Venetian Experience!

    rating06 Oct 2025

This is the only place I will ever stay in Venice! This hotel staff is so helpful and always happy to please. The rooms are amazingly authentic with Venetian glass sconces, Italiac painted walls, and golden shelves and headboard. I absolutely love this more Venetian experience! Their breakfast was amazing and fresh every morning! I have stayed at the Marconi several times over the past many years and I continue to return and always will. Their location at the Rialto Bridge is so convenient for exploring all that Venice has to offer.

Quirky shabby chic within steps of Rialto Bridge

    rating26 Aug 2025

After travelling the world, it’s always hard to keep impressing my partner… when we planned our trip to Venice, I couldn’t imagine anywhere better for the amazing wow factor this place gave us!Stepping off the water taxi from the airport on the just past the Rialto Bridge on the opposite side of the Grand Canal, we could scarcely believer our luck with Hotel Marconi tucked away in full view on the opposite bank.Just 64 steps from the bottom of the Rialto bridge, we pushed through the two small doors into a quirky retro but genuine hotel from the past Shabby chic boutique - but actual genuine original! Marble, Morsin glass, dark wood, small reception desk with pigeon holes for letters and chunky keys. Bedrooms Dining room with frosted glass windows , shutters, marbled concrete floors for the 1930s and 50s and the ultimate Morsin glass wall lights and chandeliers!Global chain this is not!. And it’s so much better for it. Location is unbeatable. Charm is wonderful. Decor is unrepeatable!

    Delightful traditional Venetian hotel

    rating07 Aug 2025

This hotel offers an authentically Venetian experience, with a charmingly traditional atmosphere. The interior has a vintage, almost antique character, which we found both distinctive and appealing. Despite its historic feel, the property was impeccably clean and well maintained, making it ideal for our short stay. The bathroom was particularly spacious and spotless, featuring an excellent shower. Fresh towels were provided daily, and the beds were neatly made each morning.Breakfast exceeded expectations, offering a generous selection of both hot and cold options, including bacon, eggs, assorted hams and cheeses, fresh fruit, yogurt, a variety of pastries and cakes, breads with a toast machine, and a high-quality automatic coffee maker. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The only minor drawback was that the reception staff could have been a touch more welcoming and engaging.

    Hotel Marconi experience!

    rating22 Dec 2024

We stayed for 2 nights and it was a sorry experience. It's a pretty ordinary hotel and doesn't deserve more than a single star to be fair. The hotel lobby stinks. Even a passage from a lobby to the room on the 2nd floor was horrible and you would better wear a mask. You can feel that they have strayed a room freshener or a spray to suppress a bad smell. The room provided to us was castrophobic. Insufficient light, improper ventilation and a mirror in the room was century old .. Shower and WC was okay.We were not able to lock the room from inside. The lock wasn't working!Breakfast was so so.. everything sweet..Even Crossoent were sweet .lots of cakes, canned juices. Only salad available was Cucumber and cherry tomatoes. I don't think they have proper kitchen. Only facility to warm the food or at max saute the bacon, poached eggs and sausages..Avoid if possible! Hotel TREVI, Direttore generale at Hotel Marconi, responded to this review Dear Guest,Your review is not only exaggerated — it is deeply misleading.Hotel Marconi is a historic property in the heart of Venice, located right on the Grand Canal and just steps from the Rialto Bridge. We receive hundreds of positive reviews each month from guests who appreciate our location, cleanliness, and service. Your description does not reflect reality, but rather a personal frustration presented as fact. The claim that the lobby “stinks” and requires a mask is absurd. Our lobby and corridors are cleaned daily, and if a light room fragrance was used, it was clearly not what you suggest. Had there truly been a problem, you never reported it to reception, which is open 24/7 precisely to resolve issues on the spot. The room you received matches the exact category you booked. If you expected a larger, canal-view room, that is a different product — and price. Using words like “claustrophobic” and “century-old mirror” may sound dramatic, but they only reflect your personal preference, not an objective problem. You also never reported a broken lock — yet mention it in your review. If you genuinely could not lock the door, it would have been your responsibility to alert us, and we would have solved it immediately. Finally, your breakfast comments are plainly inaccurate. We serve a full buffet, including eggs, bacon, sausages, breads, cheeses, meats, fruits, vegetables, cereals, yogurt, pastries, and more. Saying “only cucumber and cherry tomatoes” is false, and calling croissants “too sweet” reflects a misunderstanding of Italian breakfast culture, not a hotel fault.Your conclusion to “avoid if possible” says more about your attitude than about our hotel. We suggest future guests read a variety of reviews — especially those written with honesty and fairness.Regards,Hotel Marconi – Venice
