  Didn't quite cut it to warrant a return visit

  OK , Pros * Location to Central Terminal and other Tourist attractions or departure points for attractions.* Breakfast was good.Cons.* Room very basic and bathroom was very small and poorly laid out.* Lots of stairs required to access reception on the first floor and dont expect any help with heavy bags. * On arrival we were greeted by a gentleman who could only be described as aloof at best or perhaps even arrogant reminiscent of Ugo from the movie "La Grande Bouffe". That said we had another staff member go out of his way to assist us with a transfer on our departure.* Whilst the Location was central to the station and the tourist hub that also meant it was very busy and right in the middle of a tacky souvenir shop precinct. Hotel was chosen by a travel wholesaler and changed at the last minute If we returned we would explore other options including a quieter part of Venice.

  Choose another hotel - you don’t want to stay here

  This hotel is two stars at best. Pros: sheets and bathroom were clean, adequate breakfast provided. Cons: Everything else. We were in the annex part of this hotel, which is very dated with terribly uncomfortable beds, fraying carpet, and stains on the fabric walls and carpet. This hotel is used for student groups, so we had slamming doors and teenagers running through the hallways most of the night. We only stayed here as part of a package set up by our tour and would never stay again.

  Small room so take just one bag ( even if you are a couple )Ill conceived and dysfunctional bath room space / tiny shower ( what is it with Italians and tiny bathrooms ) Lots of stairs at the entry so not suitable for elderly or anyone with more than a small amount of luggage Breakfast was reasonable.Reception : We got good and bad , on arrival we barely got any acknowledgment and just grunted at . No help at all and arrogant.Second experience with a different staff member was quite the opposite and he was quite helpful It’s in a very busy part of town so you have the upside of convenience to the station and the canal and the downside of the crowds.My second visit to Venice and I would never stay at this place again. I’ve already identified several alternatives for my return visit.

  Stayed for 3 days here, excellent location, next to St Lucia, station very convenient to move around, the rooms are very small and cramped. Everything else is good, breakfast, cleanliness,staff, proximity to eateries.

  From the beginning we were extremely impressed with Hotel Nazionale in Venice. Perfect blend of historic charm and modern facilities. Very secure and safe environment. Great service and accommodations. Clean, cozy, and comfortable rooms. Rich, delicious breakfast. Efficient check-in/check-out process. Well-situated (it is located in the heart of Venice, in the middle of all kinds of shops and restaurants, and walking distance from the Santa Lucia railway station and from Piazzale Roma, from which a bus can comfortably take you to the Venice Marco Polo airport). The high degree of professionalism and the outstanding dedication to service exhibited by its employees during our stay ̶ we are referring in particular to Angela Brait (from the hotel front desk) ̶ are the reasons for our wanting to return to Hotel Nazionale in the future. Angela definitely made our experience at the hotel outstanding. She seems to have an intuitive, profound understanding of the process of hotel service. She is keenly interested in serving her guests promptly and efficiently. She appears to possess an incredible energy and capacity for work: during our visit, it was clear that she always went well beyond the required duties, showing at all times a generosity and a dedication that are truly uncommon.And Angela was not alone in providing first-class service. Other staff members (Angelo, among many) were equally courteous, efficient, and helpful.It is evident that Hotel Nazionale’s commitment to service and client satisfaction is beyond call. Its employees’ characters clearly radiate efficiency, friendliness and thorough professionalism. At the heart of the matter is that this hotel and its staff are committed to service and not to earnings and hours.Needless to say, the Hotel Nazionale will have our business any time we are staying in Venice.
