  Lovely hotel in a great location, very friendly and helpful reception, decor is a bit dated but appeared clean.   The location is good, but the hotel itself was disappointing. The room was too small. We got a bed that creaked terribly and a hard, old-fashioned mattress with springs. It was practically impossible to sleep. The bathroom was difficult to use. The shower curtain was dirty (dark yellow). There were no face wipes in the room or bathroom. There were only shampoo and shower gel, no conditioner or body lotion. Most importantly, the hotel didn't provide regular water in the room, and there was no water cooler or coffee machine in the lobby. The only pleasant surprise was the breakfast: a large selection of everything for a full breakfast. I don't recommend this hotel; there are many nearby hotels with better reviews. , Proprietario at Palazzo Marcello Hotel Al Sole, responded to this review Dear 578maratd,thank you taking the time to leave us a review.It's pretty much disappointing to read a bad review after that you stayed here 2 nights and you told us nothing.We remember when you came downstair asking very politely for body lotion and we told you that unfortunately we don't provide it; you smiled and said that there was no problem at all, but now we read that you really wanted it (as for conditioner, face wipes, free bottles of water and other 4 stars hotel amenities).None of our showers has curtains: you had a bath with a built-in shower with a solid side screen to avoid leaking in the floor.All our rooms have a kettle for coffe and tea that is refilled everyday and we have a bar that was open during your stay.We are glad to read that you enjoyed our location and our breakfast, giving us credit for the wide selection that we offer.Perhaps we also expected a mention to our staff, that had been able to prepare your room earlier than usual check-in time (as per your requewst), prepared a coffee at you early departure and also booked for you by phone a visit to the Armenian church.All our staff and I wish you the best,Lorenzo Pasi - General Manager

  Our room was very comfortable, spacious, and had a lovely view. In addition, the reception staff was very polite and helpful. However, our breakfast experience was unfortunately highly disappointing.?As vegetarians, our options were already quite limited. When we looked for bread to go with the cheese, we found that the bread and pancakes were stale, seemingly left over from the previous day. The boiled eggs were cold, so my 5-year-old daughter refused to eat them. The only warm option available was the croissants, so my husband and I had to fill up on just croissants and coffee.?Because our daughter ate absolutely nothing during breakfast—spending her time playing with the birds in the garden instead—I put one apple and two croissants into my bag for her to eat later. Seeing this, the breakfast staff member stopped us and warned us in a very harsh tone. Throughout the entire breakfast, this staff member kept staring at us with a hostile and disturbed attitude, simply because we were eating croissants due to the lack of other fresh options.?Getting treated this way at a breakfast we fully paid for, just because we couldn't find anything else to eat, was deeply upsetting and ruined our mood. We are about to set off on a 12-hour journey with connecting flights as we leave Italy, and my daughter is leaving with an empty stomach. This behavior was completely unacceptable. , Proprietario at Palazzo Marcello Hotel Al Sole, responded to this review Dear Journey783530,thank you for taking the time to leave us a review.We are glad to read that you appreciated almost everything about your stay.Regarding the breakfast, for vegetarians we have fresh vegetables (lattuce and tomatoes), cooked vegetables (zucchini and eggplant), scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, cheese (2-3 different types), all the pastry (5 things, icluding cakes) and bread products (other 3 different types), fresh fruit, and so on.To us it doesn't seem limited.There are also several messages to not take anything outside the breakfast room: maybe next time you could speak first with our breakfast staff, explaining your daugther situation and we can find a solution together instead of ignoring the messages and trying to put food in your bag.All the staff and I wish you the best,Lorenzo Pasi - General Manager
