      Very different type of accommodation to any we have stayed in before..Finding cheap accommodation in Venice is next to impossible, especially last minute, so we booked further out and stayed here. On arrival, we actually thought we had been scammed! There is no entrance or signage for this place and the shops below it are empty. We walked back and forth for about 5 minutes wondering what to do when the owner appeared and let us in the side gate. This place is known by quite a few different names which I find a little odd. There is no reception and we were not told of any common area for guests to hang out. We were in a double room which had a bathroom shared between two other rooms.The room was dated, but comfortable enough, especially given the price. We were given a bottle of water and the bathroom was okay. The shower didn’t drain very well, but was clean.In our hallway, we were given a cup each for tea and coffee. On our first morning, these had been used by other guests and sat dirty for the duration of our trip. We just bought coffee elsewhere. The internet was horrible. When our neighbours came back, it was next to impossible to use the wifi at all.It’s in a good location for the tram which is 100 metres away and will take you straight into Venice.The owner was kind enough to take us to the store to purchase our tram tickets, showed us where the ATM was and took us for gelato at the corner cafe.I found it strange that we had to pay in cash and an extra tourist tax was put on top of this which was not shown when booking online. We got no receipt of proof we had paid.Rather strange accommodation, but good enough if you want cheap.
