What a great spot. Location is great, the apartment was huge. The bathroom was very good. My only suggestion is they need to upgrade their hairdryer!!!

A convenient place to stay, good for families

I stayed at San Marco Palace for three nights. I booked two rooms, one for my mother and one for my husband and I. The rooms were very spacious and my mother's room had a veranda which was useful to hang the laundry. The location was good, on the vicinity of San Marco Square. However, the shower was not good. It may have been due to old water pipes or a Venetian matter but the flow of water was not good at all. Hot water was not consistent, on the first night my husband came out from the shower saying there was hardly any hot water. The amenities provided were the bare minimum, hand soap for everything, no shampoo and conditioner. This should be changed. Please provide hair shampoo and conditioner, and body wash. My mother's had a bath tub but no plug. The blanket was too thin, just a sheet. The hotel staffs were helpful but could be improved.

We had to put our luggage in an unlocked room we couldn’t check in until 3pm. I didn’t really want to leave our luggage unprotected. Well our back pack was stolen with all our medication. The staff was not helpful at all. The bed was like a rock the sheets felt like cardboard. We thought there was 2bathrooms but only one with a family of 5. We needed a porter to get to the dock but our flight was early so it cost us 70.00 instead of 35.00. A real ripoff.our buggy problem was losing our medication . No security at all. Do they know if you can’t get in your room until 3 they should have a locked room. It was a real damper to our vacation. Thank hod we only stayed one night. Very unfriendly non accommodating hotel.

One of the Worst Hotel Experiences We've Had

I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. The customer service was by far the worst part of our stay. The front desk staff were rude, unhelpful, and not welcoming at all. From the moment we arrived, we felt like we were an inconvenience rather than valued guests.The hotel itself is old and poorly maintained. The rooms and common areas felt dirty, and the beds were very uncomfortable. The hallways were cluttered with old furniture, which gave the property an unkempt and neglected appearance.Finding the hotel was also extremely frustrating. There was no clear sign indicating "San Marco Palace." Instead, only other properties from the same hotel company were listed, making it very difficult to locate the entrance. After traveling, the last thing guests should have to do is spend extra time searching for the hotel.Overall, between the poor customer service, lack of cleanliness, uncomfortable accommodations, and confusing signage, I would not recommend staying here. There are FAR BETTER options in Venice.

Awful nights sleep. Won’t be staying again

We stayed here as a family of 5. 2 adults and 3 children for 3 nights. (Children aged 11, 10 and 7).We stayed in a family suite. Although the rooms at first glance looked clean it actually wasn’t and the air quality was a real problem for us. It felt quite suffocating and stale. My daughter was on the sofa bed and the moment she was showered in pjs and in bed she wouldn’t start coughing through out the whole night and her sinuses completely blocked up. She was itching a lot on her body and her throat was hurting. It was 3 am one night when she finally managed to stop coughing and get some sleep (she’s 11). Each night I had to ensure she had an antihistamine and sleep with all windows open (which meant a lot of mosquitos) and she ended up coming into my room and slept in the bedroom with me. My husband and i had headaches each night and I got quite itchy too. My so coughed a little at night.It lead me to think the potential of dust mites.I have never been one to complain about pillows as I’d happily sleep without them however the pillows were so hard and uncomfortable. The Mattresses wern’t the best either. I asked for something to stop the mosquitoes and they said they would do something but never did.All you read/see on the reviews is correct. On the stairs each floor has huge bags of dirty and clean bed linen taking up the space all in a closed and confide space.They charge 3 euros for a bottle of water which for a 4 star hotel I would actually expect a complementary bottle of water each day which in my experience is the norm. Breakfast wasn’t great either. Nothing is fresh. The fruit is all soaked in syrup as if it’s come out of a tin. No whole fruits. Bread isn’t fresh either just sliced foreign bread that they use for toasties. Coffee is awful.They made us feel a bother at breakfast because we were 5. They were trying to cram us on 2 very small tables that wouldn’t fit more than 4 on and although there were about 15-20 free tables they wouldn’t let us join three tables together that were already free and by each other but separated they didn’t want use to join them up and said this was a problem and tried to seat us separately. On the last day /morning I put my foot down and said no and joined the tables so we could all sit together comfortably.At the end of the stay they didn’t ask how our stay was so I didn’t bother giving any feedback. We certainly won’t be staying here again!
